Welcome to the strange world of artist made
videogame mods.
Here are
four examples. I leave it up to you to enjoy or not.

Made by adapting
a old Super Mario
Brother
Nintendo cartridge and erasing
everything but the clouds. Sublime.
Velvet

Downloadable
spray paints with anti-war images

to check out the response
from the Counterstrike
community on their webpage.
Adam
Killer
Game MOD
(Original Game: Half-Life)
Brody Condon 2000-2002
http://www.tmpspace.com/ak_1.html

Exploiting a bug
in Half Life that creates trailing effects,
Adam Killer the screen turns into a mess of
smeared
textures. This
mod features multiple Adams as the only
bland target.
Untitled
Game
Modifications
of Video Game (Quake 1)
Jodi 1996-2001
http://www.untitled-game.org/download.html
In Untitled Game Jodi created a series of Quake
mods,
playing with the
code and graphics. The first modification,
"Arena", is blinding white. All monsters,
characters and
backgrounds
have been eliminated. Only the interface
and sound remain. In Spawn, shooting is
transformed into
spraying
grey pixels over an black background. The
spacebar in E1M1AP makes the world rotates
uncontrollably.
In G-R the
screen refreshes continually with bright RGB colours,
while in Ctrl-9 and Ctrl-Space, navigating
results in
surging black
and white patterns.
