TOG opened its first site on the 1 st of September 2002.
This site was run on a Linux server using a 128K upload link paid through a home DSL subscription.
!!!!Today TOG can only survive through financial help from its members!!!!!
In addition to all our running costs there is a tremendous investment in time made by many of our members to keep things running smooth and organised.
So if you enjoy TOG please consider contributing to TOG financially and keep our site alive and fast!
Contributions remain voluntary but the reality remains that without them there is no TOG in its current shape and form.
Sponsorship FAQ
Does TOG really need a dedicated server?
YES we do, shared hosting worked for us for about 18 months but our traffic requirements and database queries are enormous.
Will TOG remain free?
TOG will remain free for its members, there are only two options, we either receive enough contributions to sustain ourselves or we scale down but TOG will not be a paid service.
Why should I contribute, never noticed that we were at risk of TOG going down due to lack of finances, surely you guys got it covered, right?
Don't assume that others will be picking up the bill constantly, nor would it be fair that always the same individuals fork out cash.
How much should I give?
You give what you want, when you want. If you can't afford to contribute to TOG for whatever reason, you should not feel forced too.
Should I sponsor or donate?
Completely up to you, sponsorship comes with a professional web hosting package, see info below. You may have a use for it, you may not.
Note that sponsorship packages are given to members as a benefit, they are not being sold!
Won't sponsorship plans add to the load on the server, increase traffic and thus increase costs?
The main reason for our dedicated server is a dedicated CPU to process TOG's hefty database access and traffic needs. At this moment in time there is sufficient capacitiy in both disk space and traffic allowance to accommodate member requirements.
If you were to have requirements to such an extent that it would have an impact you can contact me directly.
Should I pay a lump sum or monthly?
Again what works best for you, lump sum payments are more beneficial for sponsors who are after a long term hosting plan.
Should I use Paymate, PayPal or Bank Transfer?
Bank Transfer:
If you are based in Australia , bank transfer is the preferred system to use, there will be no fees involved. You can email me for TOG's bank de tails:

Paymate:
If you are based outside of Australia Paymate is a ?PayPal? type system, it is extremely simple to use and does not require membership, the expr ess payment system, simply requires a credit card and done!
It accepts credit card payments and of recently can also take payments from overseas bank accounts.

Paypal is also available for those that prefer to use their existing PayPal accounts.
Can I make recurring payments?
Yes, recurring payments can be setup through your bank if you use direct transfer.
For people using Paymate there is an option to setup a recurring (monthly) payment, this will then be deducted from your credit card. Kinda like paying your fileplanet or MMO subscription.
PayPal recurring payments will need to be chosen beforehand by clicking the respective graphic below, the choices are $5, $10, $15 or $20 a month. If you wish to contribute more then please contact me and I'll setup a higher amount subscription plan.

How do I set up a Recurring Payment as a Buyer?
Click on the Paymate Express Payment logo and proceed to make a normal first payment. At this stage you cannot use Make a Payment to make a Recu rring Payment after logging into the Paymate website.
In Step 3 of Paymate Express when you enter the payment amount you will see the option to Set up a Recurring Payment. Click on this link.
You can select the frequency of payment ? weekly, fortnightly or monthly
You can select:
- either the total number of payments to be made , including the first one, e.g. 6 (monthly) payments or 12 (weekly) payments based on the sel ler's terms of sale or subscription requirements (contact your seller if unclear, before you set up the payment)
- or to make recurring payments until further notice
In both cases we will make automated payments for up to 12 months from the date of first payment. You will need to make a fresh payment and se t up a recurring payment at that time.
Note that you do not need to be a registered client to make and set up a Recurring Payment. Unregistered buyers can set up Recurring Payments on ly from a Credit Card.
Registered Buyers will need to use Express Payment to set up a Recurring Payment from a registered (and verified) credit card .
What do I need to enter in the Paymate Order/Item # field?
The Order/Item field is not really used but I would suggest that you put your TOG nickname in that field as it allows me to link the payment to your member name on the site.
What currency should I pay donations/sponsorship in?
It's really up to you as it comes down as to how much you are willing to contribute.
What if I go over the allowed limit in my sponsorship formula?
You will not be locked out of your system or anything like that, you will simply be notified that you are over your allowed limit.
I have paid so now what?
If you are contributing to TOG it is extremely important that you email Father with the info regarding your payment, payments occasionally come in with absolutely no reference as to who made the payment. Paymate gives a transact ion ID and personal details for the person making the payment, it is very hard to link someone's' real name to a nickname on the website.
S o please let me know about it by email as well, especially if you are after one of the hosting plans.
