TOG V8 Supercars Series 2006 Print E-mail

The biggest TOG motorsport event of the year is here. From Tuesday the 31st of October, Teams from TOG FV, DIC ,and independents will be competing in the ten rounds of the TOG V8 Supercar Series 2006.

Drivers will be travelling the country to compete in the first nine events, with the final round at Bahrain International Circuit , the home of motorsport in the Middle East.



After a 30 minute qualifying period, the general race length is one hour and requires at least one pit stop.
Exceptions to this will be a two hour enduro event to be held at Mount Panorama on Sunday the 17th of December, and the final round at Bahrain Tuesday 16th Jan will last one and a half hours. Racing is competed online using our own TOG server and the brilliant racing simulation engine, RFactor.



All drivers are expecting some tension building starts and very sweaty Ugh boots by race finish.

Round 2 - Pukekohe Park Raceway - Tuesday 7th Nov
Round 3 - Barbagallo Raceway - Tuesday 14th Nov
Round 4 - Hidden Valley Raceway - Tuesday 21st Nov
Round 5 - Oran Park Raceway - Tuesday 28th Nov
Round 6 - Sandown International Raceway - Tuesday 5th Dec
Round 7 - Mount Panorama, Bathurst - Enduro - Sunday 17th Dec
Round 8 - Surfers Paradise Street Circuit - Tuesday 2nd Jan
Round 9 - Symmons Plains Raceway - Tuesday 9th Jan
Round 10 - Bahrain International Circuit - Enduro - Tuesday 16th Jan



There are currently 37 drivers registered for the event, and registrations are open for new drivers to enter the series at the running of Round 3 at Barbagallo, for the Perth V8 400. TOG Racing has nine teams entered, Drunkards in Combat have six teams, and eight teams from the For Valour Racing stable, will be fighting for position on the scoreboard.


On the technical side, drivers have been attending car setup lessons and there will be some highly tweaked race vehicles competing for a podium position at each event. Spray booths have been working around the clock and the vehicles arrived Sunday the 29th sporting team colours and vinyls.





Some breathing room for the competitors came up when it was announced that the extremely fast, Garry “Machine” Cross is unable to compete due to other racing commitments. Leaving the likes of, long time racers T0p Secret and Tarquin, the new and recently victorious Wrexxx and Wolf “Slow and Steady” Web, to fight for their positions on the ladder.
