The BF2142 division goes into war mode this week as the Game Arena
Tournament kicks off. First prize is a trip to Taipei for the Asian
BF2142 Championships and $500 dollars for each member of the team! 2nd
prize is $250 for each member.
Led by their fine leader Damo, 9 other Brave TOGgers will be taking on
the clan called "Death Comes Suddenly" on a yet to be announced date.
The TOGs in Space will be battling with futuristic crafts and weapons
in Conquest mode with the default weapons. Conquest mode means they'll
have to capture and hold more of the missile silo bases than the other
team and to "bleed" their tickets down to zero, basically the same mode
as the older game in the series - BF2. Default weapons means they will
not be able to use the unlocks they earned in the public servers. Right
at the last moment the organisers over at GameArena changed the rules
and decided to not allow unlocks which is a bit disappointing but seems
to be the format of the competitions in other countries. Many were also
looking forward to a Titan based combat which has the the extra
strategic fun of destroying the enemy mother ship.
But even with the changing rules moral is very high! The team is raring
to go, they'll be practicing from now right up until their match to
give themselves the best shot at victory. GO team GO!
