If the P5K mobo is any indication, I really recommend the new P35 chipset for Intel cpus. Keeping all other hardware the same, a very, very noticable improvement over my last mobo that used the P965 chipset. My mobo only cost $150 and totally roxxors compared to all previous ones, no matter how expensive.
Also, for some reason RAM frequency seems to be generally more important than timings on Intels, whereas timings seem to be more important then frequency for AMDs(my experience anyway
