I just read both articles and I have to ask, wtf was the point?
Gaming is not about fashion. Gaming is not about shopping. Maybe for the ladies it is. IF there is fashion or shopping involved in my game play its not the goal of the game. If either is involved its a means of doing something, not the end.
If fashion is involved in any form, assuming i get to pick anything for my character, its not a charming appearance I'm going for. If I do have any fashion involved in my game then its about intimidation. Also its to help burn in an image with the name of the person that just killed ya. Its about NAME RECOGNITION. The idea of another player being struck by fear by either the name or the image of my character is what its about.
If shopping is involved its not to find what looks good on my ship,in the holster or what kind of helmet is on my head. The reason to buy,not "shop", anything is to get the gear that I prefer or use best. Its not about leaving the area with tons of stuff that I might never use. The goal is to get whats best for the job. That job is killing the other players. The biggest gun or sharpest looking axe means nothing if a pistol strangely fires off tank rounds or if a rusty fork gives me greater damage potential then the axe .
What gaming is all about is killing the other players. Its about winning. Its about "OWNING"hard. Its about building a name that opposing players learn to loath through the process of being beaten multiple times. Its about intimidation. Its about building your skills up to the point where you know there is no "unbeatable" player on the server. Its about cutting down that player everyone seems to love and making him cry in front of his fans. Its about making the other guy so mad that he throws his headset at the screen,logs off and jumps off the roof of his building because he knows there is no hope for him. Its about being able to laugh at those that thought they were unstoppable. Its about laughing at the names other players fear.
When i get into any game I want you to do a few things:
1.Know my name
2.Feel a sense of dread take over you at the sight of my name/avatar.
3.Die repeatedly,with ease and with absolutely no grace.
4.Tell your friends about how I have to be a "Haxing bastard" to do what I do.
5.Send me a hate tell, nothing makes my day like freshly brewed hate.Ahh......REFRESHING!
6.Die some more,this time throw your headset/keyboard at the wall.Scream at your cat/dog for extra damage.
7.Tell me how your side's gear is garbage and that I play on the "easymode"team.
8.Leave me good stuff so I don't have to waste time "shopping".
9.Enjoy the freshly brewed tea I create as I show dominance.
10.Let me kill you repeatedly with your own gear so I may judge if the gear is in fact faulty or if its an "operator error" that is giving you a problem.
11.Log off and log in on my side and attempt to team kill me.Tell your friends of your intentions so they can laugh behind your back.
12.Log off ,in anger as you realize team killing only got you killed repeatedly...again.Enjoy being ripped by your friends for failing yet again.
13.Get all of your friends to come after me next time you see me coming. Send me hate if your gang manages to kill me before I wipe all of you out.
14.Allow me rip apart your inevitable attempt at gloating with logic. turning it into a verbal "teabag" as you are forced to revel in my glory and realize how many of you were needed to kill just me.
15.Infect your friends with the same sense of hate towards me. Misery loves company. Rhino's love the scent of your crew's fear.
In short, gaming is all about THE HATE. If you don't hate me in game then I'm doing something wrong. Let me learn the game and you'll soon realize what I mean. Intimidation,fear,owning you hard,teabagging your corpse all leads to one thing. The reason that make me want to log in again and again. Its the hate, its addicting and I can't get enough of it. It never gets boring. It never ceases to amaze me or amuse me. Gaming is not about fashion nor shopping. Gaming for real gamers is about the Hate. My enjoyment is boosted by your level of anger towards me.
