Not knowing where to post this due to a lack of a specific message board for the games industry. I'll plug this thread here alongside the TOG Games Industry Podcast one.
Here in the States on our National PBS (Public Television) stations there's a business news show called NBR (Nightly Business Report
). Yesterday, Mr. Scott Gurvey
which is the technology journalist of the program. Aired an extended video interview of 18 minutes
with EA CEO "John Riccitieelo
" on the NBR website.
Here's the Link
Of course the topic was related to EA's business outlook. Where during minute 17 Battlefield: Bad Company 2
was mentioned briefly, besides that of Activision's Modern Warfare 2
Most of the conversation was about the future growing prospects of downloadable game sales. Besides sales figures of games like: Dragon Age, Left for Dead 2, etc...
Including the value of boxed units with retail partners. Besides luring in non-gamers via social networking sites with games and hooking them with a micro-transaction.
It was full of interesting info all in all.
