Until official 1.07 we wont be able to join, you could apply 1.07 beta patch until then though?
could you please change
// equalModRequired=1; // require equal mod
to
// equalModRequired=0; // require equal mod
That way we can use our sound mods etc. Thanks

The iiNet servers seem to be quite good. However when I have played they seem to have been populated by people that would not meet the age requirements for TOG.
From what I have experienced of the game, it is just screaming for good teamwork, not the RAMBO styles that the youngans seem to want.
I would be prepared to consider contributing to a server to get good game play happening.
One thing I have noticed is that some servers seem to have HORRID lag, and get quite choppy even in co-op games. I am assuming that this is not my computer, which should cope with most that games throw at it, nor my connection which is cable with a 256k upstream.
I would want to make sure that any server that we set up has the grunt to ensure good gameplay.

Shayd, you may want to change the passwords and pm them to me or Dr Eyeball, I just had a thought about this being a public forum.
Ulric, we cant stand the rambo style either, we either stick together on a pub or have our own passworded game, we played a mission through the other night, start to finish, and was a great sense of teamwork and accomplishment when we completed the final objective, awesome fun. As said earlier, we dont quite have the number of regular players to make it worthwhile getting a fulltime server up, but when we do rest assured there wont be any rambo. As for the lag, most of the time this is due to high pingers, sometimes I see guys with pings from 300-800, get a few of those on and any server will lag. We will pingkick for those with extreme pings.

Stomp, well said. How about a suggestion where we all get together linked up in Vent or Teamvoice and get a squad together on a public. With some of the servers having up to 60+ slots we should be able to get most of our guys in and have some fun together.
Doesn't matter if the rambo pubbers are out there providing some good distractions for us in achieving the goal. In fact I think it would actually help us get our sh!t together, as some of the focus of the other side would be on those guys.
Its not like we are likely to run out of resources on most maps from what I have seen either.
I played a bit this morning on a US server and had a lot of fun. They were working as a squad. The one thing that I did miss was effective in game voice communications. I did miss that, especially as it is such an important part of my current addiction Red Orchestra.
It was interesting to see that working as a 4 man squad in appropriate covering stance did work quite well... I am going to see if that is something I can take into RO as well, but think that the simulation levels are somewhat different.

We have a ts channel, I pmed you the details a few days ago, I will resend. Some of us are on most nights, I normally work mon-thurs so try to get a few hours in fri-sun arvos/nights. Even if only 2 of us on we work together, when we get 4+ on it becomes even better, for exactly the reasons you described.
Correct about the different simulation levels between RO and Arma, in RO you can grab a smg and go rambo to a certain extent on certain maps, Reddog and his ppsh is testament to that . In Arma, you do that you die, then have to respawn and travel some huuuuge distance to get back to the fight.

Yes, I do think that the difference is the distance to respawn on RO vs ArmA.
On some of the maps on RO you do have a significant slog back to the action. It is interesting that on those maps people seem to value their spawn life more than on the urban maps where a more Rambo style is practical.
I have yet to experience a good squad in ArmA, to see what this can do to the enemy, be it bots or human. What I have found is that the bots are quite annoying and will take the offensive, I have died many times due to this.
I will load up TS when I swap over to Windows from OSX which I am running atm and will look to hook up.
Thanks, Ulric

Changes made, I dug around some but couldn't find a link to the 1.07 beta dedicated server...you have one?
I'll sent the changed Passwords in a PM shortly. [done]
