Can someone post up how you setup a custom face image?
I've seen a few of you have done it now, so a bit of advice would help. Found this topic on faces on BIS forum, but no details, nor on BIKI. Last edited by Dr_Eyeball; 23rd May 2007 at 01:29 AM. |

Ok got it sorted, very easy.
Get this face pack Armed Assault Zone - Viewing ArmA FacePack V1 Edit in photoshop or similar, save as jpeg, make sure is under 100 KB, if over you just show up with white face/hands on most servers. rename to face.jpeg, move to your arma profile folder in my documents. (C:\Documents and Settings\Stompya\My Documents\ArmA) Start Arma, click on your profile top of screen, edit, select custom face. Here is my first attempt |

It looks like you have to name your file face.jpg not face.jpeg
and save the file to your current profile folder: My Documents\ArmA Other Profiles\[TOG]%20Dr%20Eyeball not necessarily My Documents\ArmA This BIS thread on ArmA custom face by Wipman has quite a few images by him scattered throughout the long thread. Some are 512x512, not 1024x1024, not sure if that matters or not. |

a quick tip
try and use photoshop or paintshop pro and create a transparent layer , and paint on this layer , then tone down the paint to match the face, this will keep all your face detailed plus put the paint on it when i find a pic on my system i will post it for an example added, here is a pic, the in game shot isnt that flash as its a bit dark, but you will see better in game ![]()

Yep, sorry that was .jpg, not .jpeg.
Ive not done anything with photoshop b4, as would be blatantly obvious from my 2 attempts so far, so Im trying to figure out this layer business you were talking about Jeansy 2nd attempt |

For those who don't have Photoshop or don't like it's complexity, there's a very good free clone program, which I use regularly, called Paint.Net. It probably depends on the .Net Framework, which most users would have by now. It's got a lot of the same features: layers, clone stamp, etc. I highly recommend it.
For editing code, I recommend Notepad++. |
