Clickable thumbnail images on BIS forum

Can anyone advise me on how to make thumbnail images clickable to enlarge the image on the BIS forum? I saw someone did it in another post.

In other forums (like this TOG one) I simply use:

[urlX=zzz][imgX]yyy[/img][/url]

ignore the "X"'s (to prevent it parsing the link)

I use imageshack to upload my pics, and if I want to display big res ones, I use the clickable thumbnail option

I'm only refering to the BIS forum. It uses an outdated forum system.

That's talking about how to use ImageShack, not BIS forum, afaict. I did check it out though.
The reason I provided that link was to show that BIS's forum does support clickable images somehow, but I can't figure out how. Some forums support standard html tags in their posts. Perhaps it's done that way. Something like this:

Doing that creates a link with the "[img]...[/img]" part shown as truncated text. I tried checking the http://www.ikonboard.com/ boards, but they're down.
