You lucky, lucky b@stard!
Did you play OFP, Zutta?
(I didn't, but am keen to bite the bullet, dl from Morphicon... and get into ArmA, especially after some of you other guys have posted your specs & associated ArmA performance.)
The reason I ask, Zutta, is that it seems all the former OFP fans are absolutely already committed to ArmA because of the OFP legacy of fantastic gameplay and premise... Almost regardless of ArmA's current performance-related problems on release, and beyond that its seeming hunger for PC resources anyway. And there seems to be a strong faith (almost absolute) in Bohemia Interactive's ability to strengthen ArmA's performance well into its lifecycle, based on OFP's last 5 years of popularity.
Of course, one's enjoyment of it ultimately depends entirely on whether you like the slow pace demanded by extreme realism. (I hope I can handle it. I want to...)
Maybe I should re-direct any knock-on thoughts to this thread. See you there.

To those who've downloaded the www.morphicon.de German version...
At what point in the transaction to you get issued with your game key ('CD' key)?
At the start of the download?
Is it presented on the web-page as a number you can save or have to write down?
I couldn't find how this works in the terms&conditions pop-up...
EDIT:
Oops ... just found this

Zutta and I are rl buddies and he rang me before he went to bed lol, from what he has said to me is, you get you cdkey onscreen to copy aswell as email. I am about to do it now I will let you know how it goes.
Ok took the plunge! Went to the link and then to the download, filled in the Card and email, submitted it and it gives you the Single player CDkey and the Multi player CDkey aswell as 2 downloads 1@1.6gig 2@1gig. A email is sent straight away with your 2 CDkeys, aswell as a link to install the game again if needed.
Both of us have never played OFP but we are keen Americas Army players, keen on the more simulation side of things.

Just that the game looks orsm regardless of the many negative feedbacks!
I have never bought many games, seing AA is free:P
I thought F*&# It! whats the worst that can happen:
I get ripped off from the germans ... or
The Neg feedbackers are right and im down $70.lol
I really cant see this game being under $100 when it is officially released here
So its a good deal I rekon

I've had the same thought process.
The fact that you've enjoyed AA means that you like realism and can handle non-run-'n-gun games.
It's just that from what I've read (and infer, given BI's other sales to military for training), ArmA takes realism to an extreme, and you HAVE to play it absolutely cautiously to not get killed.
I myself am coming from the Battlefield franchise, but I am so in need of a different premise in gameplay that I'm getting really keen on ArmA. I just hope it still gives me enough dynamic to not get too frustrated...

Game will be minimum 90 bucks when out here, I can handle not having an official disc, I always use backups of my originals anyway. The CZ image I used to trial the game works fine with legit key I paid for, so bargain.
The game doesnt take realism to the extreme, in no way is it a run and gun, but it isnt what I would call 'hardcore realistic' either, although you can make it pretty hard through the difficulty settings. I also come from arcade shooters, Joint Ops, BHD, BF2, but this game, even in its rough condition, has really grabbed my interest.
I actually got OFP when it was first released, I remember it being almost impossible for it to run decently on my pc of the time as well.
Just do it.
