I'm guessing that the game is much more of an infantry focussed game. With limited vehicular selections, it does reduce the distraction element. There seem to be plenty of vehicles to get involved with, and a good assortment to toy with, but, it won't be a vehicle game as such.
For me, this sounds like a good thing. The reality of these sorts of war areas, is that the vehicles are the limiting factor. Sure there's some heavy firepower, but island warfare? It has to be flown in, or shipped in, and that generally means (to me) that the old foot soldiers will be the main weapons.
I've been playing BF2 for too long now, and the over use of vehicles is just too much. Bring it on!

Well, you can play the OFP campaign using the FFUR 2006 mods, which replaces the vehicles & weapons with modern-day variations, but it means playing it all over again.
From a realistic point of view, it would be odd for the small Kingdom of Sahrani to have such a large variety of equipment too. You would generally have and maintain multiple vehicles of the exact same type.
There was also some discussion on how realistic the choice of vehicles (especially helicopters & tanks) were based on today's real world usage, but again, you could imagine that's the choice the Sahrani's made a long time ago, however good or bad.
But it's true, it would have been nice to have a larger selection of vehicles for the purposes of mission making and consistency for all players.
Hopefully the OFP modding community is a bit more cooperative and organised now, so we only need to download a few mods, rather than a few hundred like now.
What I'm guessing, based on BIS's history and the forums, is that the first patches will coincide with the English release and be more like an upgrade pack with a few extra goodies, bringing it to a new base version for all.

Yeah, I'm having to slowly unlearn all the bad habits and damage it has caused me too.

I'm seeing a therapist now.
I wake up screaming, twitching, and reaching for my imaginary rail-gun & quad-damage...

Ok... General comment of the day from me...
Why is it that it's out now in some countries, but not others... and we'll have to wait until next year to get it locally??

Think of it as them beta testing the game for us, although after playing it for a few hours last night its not very buggy, nice and polished, basically OFP on a new island with up to date AI, graphics etc. Looking forward to them finishing the translations for SP, which is hopefully end of this week.

Based on your screenshot, I see you've switched the language to English easy enough.
Hmm, maybe you could answer some questions for us now?
- How is CTI & Coop launched? ie. Is it just a regular mission in the list?
- How does the 'Quick Command System' work?

LOL Stompya, from your sig I see you too have been hitting OFP.
I've re-installed, dusted off the old Sidewinder and have been practicing tight landings with the MD500. Flight model is less than ideal, but I was inspired to write some Haiku: it is time to fly
hummingbird darts here and there
on impact deflates
Congrats on your Czech copy mate. I wonder how easily missions carry over to ArmA...

Thanks for the screenshots, Stompya. That now shows the CTI & Coop missions in the list.
I'm just trying to work out why your Mission list is different to this MP mission list (from here).
