TeamSpeak or ArmA VoIP/VoN:
LifeFlight was saying last night that he could hear other players on TeamSpeak when no-one was "activating" TS, as if voice activation was turned on for some. I heard the same later on. But I now think it's only realated to ArmA's VoIP/VoN which was active on the server we were playing on. I had TS terminated and could hear various players and background noise and grunts on ArmA who were not even in my group. The quality was quite poor. Seems almost like a bug to me. If ArmA's VOIP is based on your channel selection, then I don't see this as a working solution on public servers. I've got my ArmA controls setup to use "Push To Talk" key, but the default configuration is to have a "Voice Over Net" key, which I think is a toggle key, which makes it as bad as the original version where players were always leaving it on the whole time. I did see this post about disabling VoN. If you can confirm any of this, let us know. |

Video Resolution:
If it's still an issue, perhaps try modifying the resolution values in ArmA.cfg before starting. Code:
Resolution_W=1280; Resolution_H=1024; Resolution_Bpp=32; refresh=75; window size and position periodically using this method. Code:
winX=0; winY=0; winW=1280; winH=993; |

Finally got it!!
![]() Grabbed my new vid card and CPU recently, so was waiting for them, but now I'm all set!! Anything I need to know early on?? Or just read, and figure the rest out as I go?? ![]() EDIT: Ok, so I'm off to a bad start. I've had it lock up. I've had it crash. I've had it with a total graphic glitch, and now... in training, I can't even get my squad to shoot at a car... They get in it. Are these known problems?? Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is it a totally buggy piece of crap? I want it to be at the very least, playable. So... I've installed the 1.05 patch, and now the 1.08 patch too. This is all before starting. Am I missing anything?

Hi there mr spectre8, that doesnt sound very good m8. You have done ok with the patches, so next question is what vid card and what driver version are you using?
A lot of different setups have different probs that are easily fixed, it could be as simple as changing your pagefile setup. Lets see how we go The game is worth the trouble. |
