My current video settings to achieve a reasonable frame rate.

ArmA visibility: 1200m
ArmA video settings:
ArmA playability: good, 20-30 fps

These are my PC spec's. It would be great to see more examples from others too.

A lot of experimentation with settings still happening. Still not happy with Vid cards CP settings for this game, at moment they are all default except:

AF 4X
AA 2XQ
Hardware Acceleration: single display mode
Texture Filtering: Performance (made huge difference)
Vsynch: Force off

I ran the update and they did improve the FPS 3 -5 more but the game still is loading all the time which creates the pauses. If i load in my campain save and alt and tab to the desktop / task manager arma.exe is useing 784 mb, what bloody good is that if you have 2 gig and a 512mb card ?

Looking at your settings image, I think you need to set the Aspect Ratio to 5:4 for Res 1280x1024 (5x256:4x256).

I think Im happy now, because of my 19" LCD 1024X768 is not a good res, even though doing so gains about 20fps for me, much better at 1280x1024 with some stuff turned way down.

Settings:

In the control panel I have AF 2x and AA 2xQ with Texture filtering at performance and Vsynch forced off.

I think graphics are perfectly decent, I fully expect to be able to raise them once some patches have optimised the game.





Only times the fps go below 20 is night missions, using NVG and binos or scope at same time.

Will post a couple of screens when i get a chance. Stompya you have it running & looking good with them settings. Agree with you about the setting 1024x768 looks bad with this game 1280 + makes a huge differance even when you turn detail down. What FPS do you get in the citys. I put a extra 512mb in my system 2.5 gig i think it made a difference ? Allso try maxmem command, on the armed short cut add -maxmem=1000 i think this made a difference for me allso. ALT & tab arma.exe = 800 mb now if there was a way we could get it to load and use more ram it would make a big difference

My shortcut has this added: -nosplash -nomap -maxmem=1024 -mod=@6th-Choppersound

Id love more ram, I have 2 x 1 gb sticks though so to add more means another 2 x 1 gb sticks (not going to waste time with smaller), which being xmas and having 2 kids just isnt going to happen for a bit, LOL.

I'll get back to you about the city FPS.

What O/S are you guys running to require more than 2gb RAM?
Afaik, Windows XP doesn't support > 2gb RAM, although I think Win64 handles up to 4gb.
