Accumulation of dead bodies and vehicle hulks will kill a persistent campaign, they need to get rid of them. Yet 150 bodies isn't huge, it's in the same ball-park as some SP and co-op missions... if you'd come out of a 72hr game that generated 15,000 bodies the 5 FPS would make more sense.

Initially my map was supposed to be primarily a day map with some night fire lights included as an option. But now the night environment looks so good, I might make that the primary time of day. Here's some progress so far to give you an idea of how the night stuff looks:

Downloaded the game and when i go to start it i get a message that says

Fail to start because d3dx9_30.dll was not found.

Anyone help me out with this???

Try reinstalling direct x.

Yep got it going thanks, dont think my pc is powerful enough to see it in all its glory though...

You would be lucky to have one m8, every other game I play I can have maxed out, this one brings it to its knees. Guess you could say the game is future proofed. Expect better performance with more patches though.

however as Stomp said there should be improvements with patches and there are already posts up regarding performance tweeks ... Hopefully I can get the demo running a little sweeter if not I may have to wait for an upgrade before getting this one

What are your specs -X- ? The 2 main tweaks to start with are to force Vsynch off in your video cards control panel and to go into your mydocs, Arma folder, open the arma config and change 32 bpp to 16. Other then that its just playing with the settings, terrain at low and shadows off to start with, blood low, postprocess low, af/aa low, everything else normal and game still looks pretty good.
