G'Day, ToG!
First things first...
1. You are over 25 years of age.
I'm 37. Old enough to have played Pong. Old enough to have been hooked on Space Invaders, PacMan, and Tempest.
2. You have read the AUP & FAQ
3. You have read the forum/server guidlines.
Yes, yes, and yes.
I'm in Sydney, Australia, and mainly play when my 6-month old is asleep, which is morning, afternoon, or evening, Sydney time. Pretty much never past 9pm, when I collapse in bed exhausted. That may change if she ever starts sleeping through the night.
I've been gaming for around 30 years - how scary is that? Since the arrival of Everquest, I've mostly played MMOs. I'm a bit of a typical chick gamer, in that I don't really go for fast-twitch games. I stick to strategy and social, mainly.
My MMO history is EQ, AO, SWG, WoW, CoH, EQ2 (only a little), and now LOTRO. In 3 of those, I founded guilds, but they're all still playing WoW, and I eventually came to the conclusion that I'd rather let someone else do the work of running the show, as long as they're neither power-mad nor unwilling to boot out people who detract from everyone else's gaming experience.
I worked in IT for many years (like 1 , but I surprised myself by deciding that I'd rather stay home and enjoy my kid(s). I was also a more serious gamer when I didn't have to bail out mid-raid for an urgent cuddle/nappy change/feed/etc.
While I currently (and for the foreseeable future) live in Oz, I'm actually a Yank. I left California quite some time ago, however, to live in London for nearly a decade (I fell in love) before we moved to Sydney 4+ years ago. London is amazing, but I like the beach too much.
That sums me up about as much as a short post can do. Although I'd also like to mention that a) I love kids, but I'm not so keen to hear them on guildchat and b) I like a crowd who love their games, but never lose sight of the fact that they're games, and never cuss out a teammate for making a silly mistake that causes a wipeout. Bad stuff only happens IRL.
Over and Out,
Ani
