LOTRO App for Shuksan
Hello Everyone,
After reading a few posts on your website I find myself compelled to apply to your guild. Unfortunately, because the guild website is so extensive I had trouble finding an application form to fill out so I will do the best I can to describe myself and gaming habits/experiences. If and administrator responds with a link to an official application form I will be delighted to complete that out as well.
First, a bit about me as a person. I am a 33 year old male, single, have a dog, and live in Seattle, Washington which is where I grew up. I spent most of my years between 19 and 31 travelling around the world and working in a variety of outdoor sports/education related professions. I have lived in Australia, New Zealand, Peru, Costa Rica, Argentina, Alaska, Hawaii, California,Oregon, and Washington State.
Most of the work I have done has been as and eco-tourism guide. I have also done some logistics work for a few different sports-based guiding outfits as well as guiding for them myself. Ice and rock climbing courses, mountaineering, rafting, hiking, and sustainable resource courses are a few examples of things I have lead.
Two Years ago I came back to the Seattle area to kind of "settle down" and immediately went to school again. This time I got my private rotary aircraft (helicopter) license and fly from time to time just as a hobby. I have done a few house flips in the area and now that I am debt free I have started on a new endevour with a small Web Dev/Design company that I am working on with my retired father.
When I moved back to the area here I began playing video games again which were and early childhood obsession for me. I actually grew up just east of Seattle in the City of Redmond which at the time was a small farm town. Microsoft moved in and made it a bustling suburb but at the same time Nintendo of America had just made there headquarters in Redmond. As a fanatic Atari 2600 gamer I was extremely excited when my younger brother and I were chosen for a pilot program to test the NES before launch. We had a system for about 9 months before they were available to the public and did everything we could to find bugs and glitches for the folks at nintendo. Subsequently my younger brother went on to become a programmer in the video game industry while I had my sights on snowboarding, skateboarding, and persuing as many females as possible in my high-school years.
So when I hit 31 years of age my old gaming habits came back. My brother is a Senior Programming Engineer for Lucas Arts in San Fransisco and is constantly sending me game demos and complimentary copies. When I got WOW I was hooked. I played a druid for 2 years (starting about 6 months after launch) and quickly helped create the #2 porgression ranked guild on me server. When the server died due to too many transfers I relocatted to another realm and continued there in the #1 guild all the way through the expansion quests. We cleared Kharazan as a server first as well as Maulgar, Gruul, and Kazzak before I got a bit tired of WOW and decided to try something new. My level 70 druid is still available to play. However I have cancelled my subrcription. I could always renew it and tranfer to any PVE or RP realm to play with floks from your guild. Unfortunately I didn't realize about the PVP restrictions when I first rolled my main so with Blizzards current guidelines I will be unable to transfer to a PVP realm.
In my first WOW guild I was an officer/class leader and we ended up being the largest guild on the realm as far as population goes and second in progression. In my second guild on the new realm I was one of 8 members of my class and was having alot of fun until I ran out of content to accomplish. I continue to keep in contact with many of the players that I know from WOW although I have moved on to LOTR and plan to play Warhammer and Conan when they are released. I also admin a 50 slot Ventrilo Server and will always keep it running so that friends playing different games have a secondary place to go and hang out when their guilds servers are full.
So this brings me to why I think I would enjoy your guild and why I would be a great asset for your community. I believe that being in a guild that is cross-game and full of mature folks with a similar paridigm set to my own would be lots of fun. I also know that while I have been playing the open beta of LOTRO I have witnessed a few of you members acting in a respectful courteous manner towards the public at large, I want to be a part of that. I feel that my understanding of game mechanics, pleasant attitude, and willingness to help other players, may fit in well with your community.
I am currently playing LOTRO on the Elendilmir Server with the character name of Shuksan and hope to hear from somone in the future. Thank you for your consideration and hopefully I will get a chance to join some folks in a fellowship to do some of these red quests that seem to be filling up in my noob level 15 log.
