I cut my digital gaming teeth on Atari tank battles, graduating to Atari biplanes and, eventually, my first Commodore 128.
Clearly, that puts me well north of 25, and I've recently returned to the Pacific Northwest after too much time away.
I've completed the pre-requisite TOG reading, including FAQs, server rules and the organization's usage agreement, and liked what I saw.
Currently, I'm rediscovering my interest in gaming.
My reintroduction was Xbox Live, specifically Halo 2 -- but while I consider that a great game/concept, I was looking for something more.
That's when I happened onto the free trial offer for PlanetSide at Sony Online Entertainment. I quickly realized this was a multiplayer game that had it all: equal parts FPS, RTS and incredibly unpredictable gameplaying depth because everyone you encounter is another player rather than a pre-programmed bot that you can defeat with memorized moves and tricks.
The key to PlanetSide is teamwork, which I've seen TOG squads employ with great effectiveness as NC on the Markov server.
