Request for Membership to TOG/Osgiliath Guard - LoTRO

Hello everyone!

Let's get this out of the way first... I have read the AUP, the FAQ and the forum/server guidelines.

Ok, now down to business. I am a 41 year old man who does remember the C64 and Atari (which later became known as the Atari 2600). I was an Atari person all the way and my first computer was an Atari 800. I live in Michigan, USA, and work in retail. I will warn you now that I do travel occasionally and my be out of town away from games for 1-3 weeks at a time several times each year.

I came to TOG via the Osgiliath Guard on LoTRO. Right now, I will probably be spending any gaming time that I have there. I started playing LoTRO just after the first stress test event and have become somewhat controllably addicted to it. I read The Hobbit in 6th grade (about the time that the Rankin and Bass cartoon version was first aired on TV, if you remember that!) and have had a lifelong relationship with Tolkien ever since. I am really looking forward to getting to experience Middle Earth and think that the experience will be greatly enhanced by sharing it with like-minded kin.

As for MMO experience, I started with SWG on day one and stayed for as long as I could put up with the system problems and the Jedi-grubing masses. After that, I tried EQ and EQII, but found that I didn't love the material enough to invest large amounts of my time into it. When gaming, I am not competitive. I look to enjoy the game, do a little role-playing here and there, group casually, and help others enjoy the game. In LoTRO, I'm looking forward to all aspects including groups, raids, PvM and advancing the war against Sauron, and crafting.

Thanks for all of you for the quick response and hearty welcome! I shall be stopping in to the forums, the LotRO areas and especially the Lounge as soon as I can. I do want to let you all know that I am getting ready to go on one of my work trips soon and will be away from LotRO for a couple of weeks. (Yes, I will be gone when the game goes fully live and the level cap is lifted! ) I will stop into the forums as much as I can from the road and at least keep in touch. Safe travels!
