Looking for a kinship to call home in LOTRO...

Hi,

I am a significantly older gamer. I have been playing MMO's for nearly 10 years. Though I've tried many, my favorite games have been SWG, EVE, ShotOnline, WoW, CoH and yes even EQ.

I have spent the last 6 years working and living in the USA, but having moved back to the UK have found that all my friends are on USA only servers in LOTRO.

So now I am old AND lonely .

my alias Rubricsinger originates from an old game I used to play and has stuck (poor me). I have been heavily involved in many guilds over the years including WitchHunters from World Of Warcraft. Being a programmer (or sad bloke, depending on your outlook), I also contributed to many of the original addons for WoW, specifically WowRoster, PvPLog and such though I have not been in there for a while.

Ok so hopefully I have bored anyone sufficiently to help them get to sleep on this night of LOTRO server downtime .

If not, here are the stats requested:

I am 36
I have read all the blurb in the AUP & FAQ
I also read the forum/server guidelines - really I have!
I am in Cobham, England but travel a lot and play games while on the road (though not while driving, I've found it to be too hard to hold the burger, coke, laptop and phone all at once). I will be online a lot, though not always regular times.
I suck at PvP.
I don't understand crafting in LOTRO yet, but then I never understood the point of it in WoW at all so there's not much new there.
My daughter is 6 and is addicted to WoW.
My wife hates computer games, but tolerates my addiction.

My current characters are:
Rubsi, Elf Lore-Master
Isbur, Human Champion
Smeggi, Dwarf Minstrel (really it's true and he is now my favorite)

I think I am always helpful and polite.
I have been told I sometimes have a somewhat obscure sense of humor.
I enjoy games most when in a group of other players.
