Hey guys, i'm Guy!
Lessee, an introduction. Well, I am 26 and I work for GM Logistics, and I also work part-time (read: one shift per week, TOPS) at GameStop for the discount and checkouts.
I absolutely LOVE video games. I got an atari in '85, along with combat, pitfall, and a few others, and was hooked. When my parents presented me with an NES at Christmas of 1987, along with Super Mario Brothers and The Legend of Zelda, my life was officially over. If you worked at the EBGames in Little Rock, AR in the early '90s, I apologize now, I was the kid calling every day to see if the SNES was out, then if A Link to the Past had come out yet, and so on (and so forth) ad nauseam.
I actually still have, plugged in under our TV, the NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, as well as the Wii, PS2, and XBOX 360. Count a DS and a PSP amongst those, and I'm lucky my wife is tolerant of my habits.
These days I don't have as much time for games as I'd like (who does), but I play Gears of War online with some coworkers (I need MAJOR PRACTICE), my XBL gamertag is guybyars (something I need to change); I am also slogging through a queue of RPGs that I didn't get around to in college, such as Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and Silmeria, and FFXII. I'm still a big nintendo fan, i'm most of the way through Super Paper Mario, though I'm saving my enthusiasm for Mario Kart and Smash Bros. later this year and next.
I started playing online when I hit the dorms at Baylor in 1998 with Rainbow Six. I actually played with the deltA clan, although I was never good enough to join, Pie4Foo (Christophe Abele) from wargamer was my best friend and neighbor growing up. He kept me up to date, and connected, to video games during that crazy time that was college. Mostly I played multiplayer matches of Mario Kart, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, et al. with friends after coming home from the bars and at little LAN parties. I missed out on the whole HALO phenomenon, much to my chagrin, so I have alot of catching up to do.
Anyway, David Marchbanks (gamertag: ninjanaught) is "coaching" my re-immersion into online gaming, and he told me you guys were pretty cool (and tolerant of a guy who is a little behind), so I look forward to playing with you!
Oh, and XBL gamertag: guybyars
Wii friend code: 2467 9874 4227 4243
and I have read the AUP and FAQ and agree to its terms and conditions.
