Hi all,

Yes here is another person wanting to join TOG!

First of all - I am well and truly over 25yrs of age (I just turned 40), and I have read and agree to the AUP, FAQ & forum/server guidelines!

My nic is Slartybartfast I have chosen this name as I was a watcher of the original TV series of Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy (that alone should prove I'm over 25yrs) and I liked the name then. I have chosen to spell it with a 'y' not 'i' (as in Slartibartfast - the proper spelling) as I am more likely to find it available to use on forums etc.

A bit about myself:-

I am from Latrobe Valley in Victoria - where most of the State's electricity comes from.

My favourite on-line multiplayer game is CounterStrike Source, but lately I have been wanting to try something new (America's Army).

According to my wife, I spend way too much time on the computer!

I am too poor to afford a Monster Gaming PC or HUGE Download Limits & Speeds (I gotta eat don't I!) - the overall result is that I usually get shot before I can actually see anyone! So my simple gaming life involves using Game Arena Servers (free for Bigpond users) and hoping that Santa will give me an upgrade for Christmas.

I am a shift-worker, so I am sometimes available to play at any time of day/night.

My house contains a PSOne, PS2, NintendoDS (thanks to the kids), and what I consider to be a console ground-breaker (and still very much a favourite) - the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

Oh dear I just went all Retro (another sign of my age)

As far as my skill level is concerned - on pub servers (CSSource) I would like to consider myself to be in the top half - to the top third, (with my later evaluation based on playing against people who aren't using HAX!) I mainly play for fun. I don't like people who use Hacks as I believe it takes away from what I consider to be the most important aspect of on-line gaming (me having fun!), and how can someone truly judge/rate their performance/skill when it is based entirely on their ability to find the latest and best Hax by surfing on the internet!

I look forward to playing with other people who are of my vintage, and have respect for each other and the mature gaming community in general.
