Default Greetings from Beaumaris (Application)

*Beaumaris slowly led his old horse past the gatehouse guards and into the sprawling castle of the TOG. The road had been a long one, and he was relieved to be free of the wildness at last. Handing the reigns over to a stablemaster, he stepped within the barracks and saluted.*

Hello friends! I am Beaumaris. I am presently a gamer on the LOTRO Elendilmir Server where I have come across your community representatives. One Sir Greyfoot in particular referred me here to your home, and instructed me to offer and introduction and prove myself worthy if I wished to join.

Indeed I pledge that I am an older gamer. My gaming career began with the original 'Pong' and has not slowed down since. I played the original Space Invaders and Asteroid in bowling alleys in the 1970s, played an early Star Trek game on the PET in 1979, then moved on to the Commodore Vic 20 and C64 as my home gaming platform. The rest is history. Suffice it to say that I remember enough of my old time gaming that I am extremely thankful for what we have come to have today in the realm of computer gaming.

I hail from a land known as Pennsylvania though have adventured for quite some time now in the more distant country of Austin, Texas. There, when I am not slaying orc or goblin, I serve as an environmental consultant and project manager. I am married and have two smooth collies as my kids.

It would be my honor to join the TOG community, and I hope you will accept my request to do so. I am over the age of 25 (I am 40), have read and agreed to the AUP and FAQ terms, and have read and agreed to the forum/server guildlines posted here, as requested.

*Beaumaris bowed respectfully, and awaited the time with patience while his request was made known to the TOG master and members.*

Great intro!! Love it!

If you feel like waxing rhapsodic on more than this occasion, perhaps you could contribute your innumerable skills to the TOG Journalism effort!? We may be few, and true, we may do little... oh hang on... this aint working!

Let me hit you with the big stick, get this show on the road, and let you into the wonderful world of TOG! Feel free to contact me, or any other Admin type peeps, if you wish to be a TOG journo. Just a thought! The guff:

Welcome to TOG, your application has been reviewed and approved.

You will now have full access to all parts of the tog website including:
  • All tog member only forums
  • All member only areas of the website
Your membership also includes access to various tog only servers, get-together, events, and other exclusives for this 25 and over only organization.

Undoubtedly you want to get started and the best place to start is to visit the main forum for the game in which you are interested, have a read of the sticky posts and other threads that catch your attention.

Make sure you introduce yourself and ask any further questions you may have. tog members are very helpful so don't be shy....ask away

The social heart of tog can be found in "the lounge room". there are lively discussions on many subjects as well as information on real life get togethers. If you want to know the other tog members across the whole of tog visit the lounge room.

Got a technical problem?

Visit tog's very own laboratory forum & see the cage full of helpful geeks. Not only can they assist in your troubleshooting, but they also like to help with upgrade & new computer advice.
DISCLAIMER: use the geeks' advice at your own risk. they are just tog members like you & may not be fully qualified computer technicians

OH NO! I've signed up with the lamest nick name on the internet!

No worries. Our fully trained forum administrators can help. Simply post your request for a name change in 'the desk' forum & the admins will leap into action & change it for you.
