Default Application

Hi there.

I'd like to apply to join TOG please.
Im Paul, 29, from the UK, I move around a lot so no point in saying where from exactly as I dont know from one day to the next!

I play WoW & BF2 mostly at the moment, maybe a few other bits and pieces such as DoD Source and CS from time to time. Probably TFC2 for a laugh when it finally comes out. Hasn't that been in development for about 6 years? I am mostly interested in playing WoW on the Deathwing Horde server with some of you, as Im sick of the childish stuff that goes on in the general chat channels and random groups (PUGs).

Ive invested a lot of time in to my WoW character, but am about to quit playing, in fact I came very close to closing my account last night!
For me the game seems to be flooded with people who have no respect for others, this mentality is shown on the general chat channels in game, it's like being back in school or something. Brush somebody up the wrong way, or in fact, just have a normal conversation with somebody in public/in a general channel and you risk becoming the target for somebody's ridicule or offensive language, make a mistake in a group and get called a retard. I know all games are like this, but WoW is by far the worst I have ever experienced. Probably because there's thousands of players on at any one time so you just seem to come across more idiots I guess, but I dont have the time for such people and it would be a shame to close my account just because other people are ruining my enjoyment of the game.

I've now started to turn off the general and trade chat channels, and was about to quit playing. This is my last effort to salvage something from the 2 months of my life or so that I have invested in this game. Ive seen TOG members on the server for a long time and theyre always friendly, never rude or out of line. I often speak to TOG members without fear of being insulted for no reason. I also have some friends in TOG, some who I know in real life as well as some who I know from years ago when we played CS. I was going to join a while ago but delayed. I did join a Guild which subsequently disbanded as the leader's attitude was "I cba to do a website", so that was never going to get very far. I would now only join a decent, established guild, which your Old Grudge guild on Deathwing obviously is, as well as the whole Older Gamers Community.

Anyway it'd be great to play with some decent folk and see if I can learn to enjoy the game more and get away from all the abuse, unfortunately being a tank means I am often target number 1 for abuse from random members of the public who have no respect for other people. When anything goes wrong it's always the tank or healer who gets the blame first (usually the word/s of choice being "retard" or "Fkin noob" and its ruining any enjoyment of the game. Turning off general chat channels aren't the best solution when in a raid or instance, so basically I will never do another PUG and it's time to join a guild. Yours has a great reputation and I see on WoWJutsu that you are also quite progressed in the raiding scene which I may like to join in at some point.

So, there's my reasons for wishing to join. Oh did I say Ive read the guidelines, rules, FAQ, AUP etc and of course agree.

I look forward to your reply.
