Would Like to Try Eve-Online!

Hello,

My name is Simon Jaspers, I am 37 and live in Canada, married son etc.

I have read the AUP & FAQ and the forum/server guidelines.

I tried Eve many years ago, but found it incredibly buggy and painful to play. A person I work with recommended I try it again as he says the game has improved dramatically. I have researched the game as best as I could, and it seems to have a steep learning curve, so it would be best for me to join a corperation to help point me in the right direction.

I found your corperation/organization on the recruitment portion of the Eve online forums. Given a wife, young child and full time job (I am a web developer for a software company), I was thrilled to see a group who seems to understand the needs and difficulties of being an older gamer (no pun intended).

I have played games since pong! In the past I have played Quake CTF online, where I enjoyed the team work etc. I also played Unreal Tournament and a few other FPS, I have also played all kinds of solo games on my PC.

I have friends and family that play WOW, but it just doesn't appeal to me, as it seems to have not much risk compared to Eve Online.

I have not created an account yet, as I am trying to get my ducks in a row before making a jump in, as I don't want to waste time and money until I am ready to give this game some of the time it deserves.

Welcome to TOG Simon!

We have several different corps filled with TOG'ers. Each corp has a different focus, so if you don't like one, its easy to switch. There is an ingame channel called 'TOG Power'. When you join Eve, post in the TOG Power stickied thread with your toon name to get permission to join the channel. Then you can ask all the help you want.

We also have an active ut crew, but only in the AU/NZ area. Hopefully when UT3 comes out, it will be a different matter
