Hi ~
My name is Star Weaver and I'm a little older than 25. I don't really think of myself as old or even older, but then, it's been a few months since I've looked at the WoW General forum.
I've read the FSG, AUP, FAQ, TOS, the F1A spec regs, a few SSS tutorials, the OGL redbook, the UED wiki, the manuals for my BFG, SPMA, and ASMD, the FCRA, and the scary text on this Taco Bell Fire Sauce (TBFS?) packet.
Sometimes I think I've been gaming for a long time, but then I remember that there are people who played C64 and Apple II games on real hardware when they were new. Star Control II and various Sierra adventures are the earliest things I can remember being REALLY hooked on, later X-Com/2, Daggerfall, and Frontier:First Encounters. I played a lot of console games, but only on other people's systems.
I've been playing MMOs on and off since The Realm, though it was mostly off after getting sick of EQ. My fiancee pulled me into Puzzle Pirates and then City Of and then WoW, which we would still be playing if not for this thing where I was a pizza driver and my car fell apart. We're still playing YPP a little on the dub oceans, and we're finally looking into getting back into another game, but for now it's mostly offline stuff.
Which means UT2004 and CIV4 with my fiancee and dabs into various indie/OSS games like Vega Strike, Special Agent, and SUAVE (those being the last three I played). I keep going back to roguelikes every so often, too (yay DooMRL, Crawl, ToME). We try to play console games (Final Fantasy currently, also Silent Hill and occasional bouts of finger DDR or Soul Calibur) but keep getting distracted from the longer term ones.
My overall playstyle tends to prefer speed and grace to lumbering and spammy or thwacky, but I change a lot too. I do prefer defense or midfield in e.g. CTF. In MMOs, I like wandering and exploring and smaller groups most of the time. I'm a packrat with minor completeism, I have alt-itis, and I want to learn everything.
When I'm not playing games, I'm probably working on 3d art with Blender, or reading about it. I do a little coding by tying snakes together. In theory I also write. We're both sorta interested in game design, too. One of my to-do's this holiday is to do some actual work on a UT2004 map we've been talking about. I carve branches. I clean, and sorta-cook. I impress my bosses by taking screenshots of PDFs and circling things in MS Paint. I listen to lots of music. I spell-check. I also ramble, and blather, and carry-on, which I seem to be doing now, so I think I shall end this post.

Reason: the coding snake thing
