Default New Recruit Reporting for duty!!

Hey. Stumpy Beogut here. Ageing Guild Wars player from the UK. Invited by a large amphibian to join the Guild for the 'more discerning' player. My background: after spending my formative years - early 20's being moderately ok in FPS games such as Quake and Quake2 etc, I eventually found myself getting repeatedly fragged by 14 year olds, got embarrased about lying about my age... 'Hey Stumpy, I fragged u real good, how old are you?' '12' I would reply (thus deducting 12 years from my actual age at the time). By that stage I'd learned from experience not to give my real age as I'd get: 'Cool, that's great you old people playing games, I bet you were really good at PacMan!' - well, the ghosties used to get me, so I stopped playing. Anyway, Guild Wars is great because you're not relying (Totally) on reflexes. Strategy and good choice of friends is much more important. That's where I met BigFrog, what a dude!! Please invite me to your Guild!

Hi Stumpy Beogut and welcome to TOG. Nice post but you've missed out the most important stuff. You need to state that you're over 25, you've read the AUP and FAQ and you've read the forum/server guidelines. http://www.theoldergamers.com/forum/barracks/88462-potential-members-please-read-before-posting.html

Once you've done that an admin will approve you. Hope to see you soon and we hope you enjoy your stay.

Hello there and welcome to TOG.

Please take some time to read this: Potential Members PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING and the other sticky posts at the top of this forum. They detail what is needed in order to become a full TOG member.

We need to know:
  1. Are you over the age of 25?
  2. Have you read and agreed to the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) and FAQs
  3. Have you read and agreed to the Forum and Server Guidelines.

Post back here with the required info and we can give you full access to the site (TOGerised).

Thanks

Default Oops!! I'm losing it in my old age

Those marbles are just rolling away one by one!!

1) Ok, Yes, I'm over 25 (37 - DOB 1970)
2) I HAVE read the AUP. I haven't read the FAQ because I don't have any questions at the moment.

Sorry wrong answer.....

I Have now read the FAQ and I'm feeling much more knowledgeable, plus it was quite interesting. 'Canyon' on the ZX81 was my first game, Elite on the BBC Micro my first obsession (and Yes, I made it to Elite without cheating - All those 'Right On Commander!!'s) /

3) I've read the forum/server guidelines.

BTW? Is it just me or does anyone else out there use proper punctuation, grammar and spelling on their SMS messages? Is that an age thing?

Thanks!

Welcome to the madhouse mate!

Always good to have another U.K. based play on board the good ship TOG.

If you ever fancy dipping your toe back in the waters of FPS games, but this time taking along some crusty TOGgers to act as a human shield against the pre-pubescents, drop by the Call of Duty 4 forums and say "Hi".

Have fun,
Jakob
