Hello,

I'm applying to TOG because I'm interested in playing online games with older players. I'm twenty-six and have been playing video games ever since the atari.

I'm just getting into Guild Wars and would like to do some PVP with some experienced players. I play a necromancer called Ulthwa. I've played her to level 20 in the Factions campaign and have started a PVP character as well. Right now, I've unlocked a lot of the item upgrades and have Spiteful Spirit.

I also play World of Warcraft. I have a level 70 mage called Eviljay. You can look me up on Armory. I'm the mage. Not the warlock. I have full merciless gear and my teams have decent ratings. Season 3 started a few weeks ago and we're working our way back up to 1800. If TOG has a guild on the Burning Blade server I'd be interested in joining that guild as well.

I'm looking forward to Warhammer's MMO coming out. I have a group of guys I play with. They're the ones I arena with in WoW, but it would also be nice to have another good group of guys/gals to play with in a guild. So, hopefully you will be starting a guild in Warhammer when it comes out.

I played LOTRO for a few weeks. I wasn't fond of the PVP system though. It felt cowardly. Everybody was just trying to protect their precious stars.

I live in Minnesota and I usually play in the evenings to late night.

Lastly, I have read and agree to the Aup, FAQ's, and I also read the forum and server guidelines.

Hi,

A few hours after I registered here at TOG my world of warcraft account got hacked. I made the stupid mistake of using the same password for this forum as my account. I realize it is my own fault. If anybody knows anything I'd like to know. I've only been here for a few days and people have been really nice. It is just questionable to me that I got hacked within 12 hours of registering here. I never give out my passwords or account information to other players and this is the only forum I'm currently registered to. So, it makes sense to me that this is the most likely place for me to have made a mistake.

I realize I may never know who hacked me and it could have happened a thousand different ways by a billion other people.

Hi Jay - that is very unfortunate news. Sorry to hear about your account being hacked.

As a site Administrator I'm not going to say it's impossible that your forum password was uncovered somehow but I find it very very very very very unlikely that this is the case. As an Administrator, even I can't see your password. I can reset it, but not see it.

As for some hacking tool that might do this, I guess they are out there but TOG has been playing WoW for a long long time (3+ years) and I can't say we've heard many (if any) stories like your own.

I think it is merely co-incidence that your account got hacked immediately after signing up here. Of course if you have a good reason to suspect foul play the Administrators would be very keen to hear more from you.

I don't know if you've resolved the issue with your hacked account but perhaps you can still trust us and post your story in the TOG WoW forum. You may find some very helpful advice on ways to restore your WoW account.

I don't know if this response helps you but I do hope you can resolve your WoW issue and continue to enjoy the great TOG community.

I understand that it probably isn't anybody here's fault. It was just a really really strange coincidence. I do have good news. The person who hacked my account made a few key mistakes from which I was able to hunt down further information. I believe I know his name and where he lives. I reported him to the IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center which is a part of the FBI).

I hope that Blizzard, the FBI, and the company I found him through will bring him to justice. I am sure that Blizzard will restore my account to its state before this violation and I've learned a valuable lesson about trust. I also learned that we're only victims as long as we think that we are victims. I am not a victim, and the person who wronged me will be brought to justice. I figured him out and the FBI should be able to as well.

Welcome along Jay...sorry to hear that you got hacked but you`ll find us old toggers a trustworthy bunch after a while. I was one of the first Battlefield 2142 players to be name hacked in an attempt to sully mine and TOGs name but it turned out to be some random 12 y/old child i destroyed one to many times (he he he) turns out he paid for his hacking tools and such but its the friendly members in here that matter, so i hope you enjoy a long stay with us
