Applying for membership
Hello all. I was interested in joining TOG, so, here goes:
I am over 25 (31 actually..), I have read the AUP and FAQ, and I have read the forum and server guidelines. I am located in San Antonio, TX and I typically play evenings during the week and various times during the weekend.
My gaming history started on an Atari, then I became interested in computers and got a Commodore 64 for my 11th birthday. It was all downhill from there. Most of my gaming is on PC, but I do also play around a little with PS2, PSP, and NDS. PC is by far my most preferred platform. Currently, I play Crysis and COD4 and both are a blast.
I just built myself a new gaming machine to handle these newer games, so I should be good to go for a couple years. It is a AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ on a Gigabyte mobo, 4 gigs of DDR2-800 and a geforce 8800GT-OC. Brings a smile to my face over my old athlon 1800+, fx5700U, and 1gig of ram, haha.
I started playing competitively approx. 7 years ago but haven't really been involved in it for the past 2 years. I was playing Tribes 2 and MOH mostly during that time. We were -uTp- (United Team Players) and I ended up becoming pretty close with most of the members, including the leader. I was eventually doing most of the administration for the teams website and helping with the web server. The camaraderie was great and it is a really good feeling to know a group of people so well, considering that it allows you to play at a higher level because you can anticipate their moves and communicate with them better.
I am a District Manager for a large retailer. Not really what I wanted to do with my life but hey, things happen and you just have to adapt and overcome. I am married (8 yrs now..) and have a wonderful 7 year old son who shares the same interests in computers and gaming, which is great.
When I am not in my boring company vehicle, I am planted on my 07 Honda CBR600RR, which is probably my absolute favorite hobby.
So, there's my life story. I hope to play with you all soon and happy killing! Oh, and by the way Merry Christmas!
