Ramblings of a New COD4 Recruit

Before I start my monologue, I'll advise that I've read the AUP and FAQ, and the Guidelines, and am over 25.

Whilst playing COD4 I've noticed a bunch of people running around with TOG tags, and they played without any slurs or asshatting. It caught my attention, but thought I had to play as expertly as them before I could even think about joining (I still suck somewhat at COD4, but not as badly as when I first plugged in 4 weeks ago). Now, when I found out what TOG was an acronym for, I sprinted for the website

I play COD4 as Gertrude (but began as The Wish), because it implies my femininity. Yes, I'm female, and approaching mid 30s. My real name is Dee. I'm married without children and am a motorcycle instructor 5 days a week. (Yes, it's as awesome a job as you think!) I have two dogs, both terriers (one's a Maltese and the other a Silky). In case you can't be bothered looking at my profile, I'm also in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

I'm fairly much addicted to this COD4 thing, but I also enjoy roleplaying games such as Neverwinter Nights [NWN], Vampire: The Masquerade [VTM](Bloodlines), and building various housing in Sims2. Has anyone else ever played Stubbs The Zombie in Rebel Without A Pulse? Hilarious!

I'm interested in if the COD4 TOG clan uses Teamspeak (or whatever you call it when you can just natter away into a headset), because that's the next thing I'd like to try - I have the headphones with mic, just need someone to talk to...

... and that sounded fairly pathetic, but I'm sure you know what I meant.

Hi, I play CoD4 too. I play under name Caboose. Its a bit more suiting to CoD than Starjack...

Anyway, I'm in Redcliffe and on holidays at the moment and been playing CoD4 pretty much non-stop since Xmas. I have the bad posture to prove it. CoD 4 multi is extremely fun but very frustrating sometimes.

I play mostly on the hardcore servers (usually marked H/C) but when they are full (usually most of the time) I play any old Internode or Gaming SA server.

Lots of kids playing on holidays too, you can just see them. They are the ones saying "Get fcuked!" and "Fcuk you!" every time you kill them and then do a whole lot of argueing when they are winning. Gets a bit annoying when you just want to play.

I'm not much for the voice chat or ventrillo thing. I do have it but I haven't checked if there is a CoD4 group for it. Maybe someone can tell us? It would be a pleasure to chat to freindly folk who might say "Good shot" instead of "Spawn camper!"

I've seen some TOG'ers. I tend not to have the tag. Like I said, I just like to play. When I had ToG tags in CoD2 I got kicked a few times even though I registered with ToG. People didn't read the forums where I said I was Starjack. Just be sure to let people know if you play under a different name than you forum name.

Well I'm going to see if the H/C server is free yet. Its been full for a couple of hours. Send me a note if you wish.
