Cheerful
Default Request to join TOG

Hello,

My name is Brian.

Lets take care of the red tape first:

I am over 25. (I am actually 46)
I have read and AGREE to abide by the TOG Code of Conduct
I have read and AGREE to and abide by the TOG Acceptable Useage Policy (AUP)
I have read and AGREE to abide by the Forum & Server Guidelines
I have read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Document.
I have read and AGREE to abide by the Signature and Avatar Guideline.

Now on to the more interesting stuff.

I have played just about every major MMORPG out there... most from beta to release. I have missed a few, but I do try to keep up on what is coming down the pipe.

My first MMO was Ultima Online. I enjoyed it alot till till the PvP kids made it too frustrating to deal with. I then moved on to Everquest and had a good deal of fun there till friends stoped playing. I played Asherons Call for over 2 years (after release... I was in the beta too)till they spent 6 months working on a way to block "Gear", a cheat program that PvP players were using.

I played DOAC, Anarchy Online, WOW, LOTR Online, Star Wars Galaxies, Matrix Online, EQ2, D & D Online, Lord of the Rings Online, Hellgate London and maybe a few others. I currently have active accounts for Vanguard and Tabula Rasa.

I don't like PvP at all in MMORPG's as I feel it draws an anti-social element to what is intended to be a social experience. Do I think that all PvPers are bad? No... Just a large number of them.

I do enjoy PvP in games like Counterstrike and Call of Duty and that style of game. It fits with the style of game and has no long term penalties to getting PKed. (Like loss of stats or XP or treasure)

My Best friend and I play many games together, but our scedules some times make it chalenging to get any momentum going to level in many MMO's.

I will say that the best experience I have had yet with an MMO is with D&D Online. I had more fun with more people ... in pickup groups. (Using the in game voice chat). Most people I ran into were my own age or at least older and just wanted to relax and have fun. I would still be playing that game if it had not gotten repetitive. (I might go back and check it out some time)

That experience is what made me want to look into TOG.

No drama, no power trips ... just people having fun gaming and helping eachother to have as much fun in a game as they can ... wile remembering that each of us has "real life" commitments as well.

I look forward to adventuring with you all.
