Usually I use a musical reference, but since this is a gaming community, that seemed more apropos. Let's get the obligatory stuff out of the way first.

There are some key things you MUST state in order to be considered for membership. These include:

1. You are over 25. 36>25 = TRUE
   
2. Your have read and AGREE to abide by the TOG Code of Conduct Don't be a jerk. Don't do anything illegal. Got it. I can do that. Not do that. Whatever. I'll be nice.
   
3. You have read and AGREE to and abide by the TOG Acceptable Useage Policy (AUP) Follow the rules. You play nice and so will we. I think I can probably manage that one.
   
4. You have read and AGREE to abide by the Forum & Server Guidelines Redundant much? Be excellent to each other. Party on, dudes. What? Oh, okay. Yes, I agree to abide by the Forum & Server Guidelines. Better?
   
5. You have read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Document.I think this cut & paste probably answers that one. Community for gamers who are less likely to be asked if they're old enough to buy that and more likely to be asked if they want the senior citizens discount. Given that those are my own words, I can thoroughly get behind them. More formally, yes I've read the FAQ.
   
6. You have read and AGREE to abide by the Signature and Avatar Guideline. No huge animations that link to porn sites. Don't use or say anything likely to cause Fright Checks or SAN loss. Though strictly speaking, it only says the images shouldn't be offensive. Doesn't say anything about plain text in the signature. But that's being a jerk, which I already said I wouldn't do. So, quotations from the Al Azif notwithstanding, I agree to these guidelines as well.
   

And I think the nature of my responses above gives at least a clue towards my personality. I have a sense of humor that many people in the US would call British, mainly because the only British humor they're familiar with is Monty Python. Personally, I like to call it "mine." But that's just me. Nevertheless, on to administrivia.

Geography: Currently located in Atlanta, GA, USA, Earth, et cetera ad astra ad infinitum. That would be EST, or GMT -500. Given that, I'm usually online between 7 PM and Midnight weekdays, and randomly on weekends.

Gaming history: Mine is a long and twisted tale. The short and untwisted version of it being that I started computers with the Sinclair ZX-80 and got heavily into games starting with the C-64, eventually graduating to the Amiga and eventually, in the mid-90s bowing to pressure and finally getting a PC-compatible. Tons of tabletop games ranging from Monopoly (with and without nuclear option) and Trivial Pursuit (adding combat rules was more complicated, but highly entertaining) to Speed Circuit, Talisman and Fluxx. Mini wargaming: Just a little; mostly Battletech and Silent Death. RPGs: More than I can remember. Started with D&D Red Book and never looked back. Current favorite systems are, in no particular order, Amber Diceless, Champions/Hero, GURPS and Feng Shui (so predictably the only PnP games I'm currently in are Torg and a bastardized D20 Modern using the Mutant Chronicles setting.) Computer games I'm currently playing are CoX and WH40KoWark Crusade. Oh, and 2-3 email/forum RPGs. And of course I read voraciously. Lots of music, but very little in the way of television or movies, and most of that SF and martial arts.

Mundane stuff: Not a whole lot. Tommy Tanaka is the name of one of my oldest and most frequently played characters, and the name I traditionally use as my online persona. I tend not to give out my legal name for personal privacy reasons. Currently working in a law firm in the grey area between paralegal and data processing with a side order of tech support, and working towards the world record in taking too [expletive] long to get my college degree. Family, but none immediate or living within 500 miles but active in church (Unitarian Universalist) community.

Not the full story by any stretch of the imagination, but it covers the highlights and some random illustrative details. And now I'm going to see if I can manage to get more than four hours of sleep before work in the morning.
