I would like to join The Old Gamers. I'm 39, originally from the US, but currently based in Adelaide, SA, Australia. I've been playing computer games since the early days, played my first networked game (Xtrek) back in 1988, and after a career in IT, am now a graduate student studying video game design and development. Academically, my primary area of interest is transmedia storytelling in multi-user environments, though I am also interested in in-game economies of online games. My first MMO was back when they were called MUDs, and right now I'm enjoying Tabula Rasa. I will probably give Age of Conan a try at some point soon.

Outside of games, I'm recently married, so most of my gaming time is during the day when I get to call it research, though I do have the odd night on my own which is often spent online. I enjoy travel, snowboarding, indie music, and am getting to know the fine wines of Australia.
