I am married and have one daughter. I work for a large corporate entity and put in too many hours. With those two things in mind, you can imagine that my gaming commitments must necessarily be "flexible".
Nevertheless, I am a lifetime gamer who started with RPGs back in 1978 (I still play semi-regularly). I started MMOs with Ultima Online and I've played most of the big names as they've come out. I spent the most time on EQ (I had more time back then), but WoW came a close second. I won't bore you by listing them all, just suffice it to say that its a lot. I currently have active subscriptions to LoTRO, CoX, and AoC. I don't really have time for all three, and I find I'm spending most of my gaming time on AoC. I play the CoX with my wife and daughter, usually on the weekends. LoTRO I bought a lifetime membership to (I was a pre-order), but haven't play it in some time.
I love PvP games though they can be frustrating. I tend to shy away from those PvP games that are poorly designed such that exploitable flaws in the game are commonplace, and the designers unresponsive or slow.
I've been in many different gaming guilds, both good and bad. I even founded and ran a guild in WoW for a little less than a year, I really enjoyed that despite the time commitment. We had grown pretty large and had become quite organized. However, hurricane Katrina took away my computers and internet for about four months. When I returned, the officer corp had sort of just let things drift. I tried to revive the ailing guild, but it died shortly thereafter.
I live in the USA, in the central time zone (-6 GMT). It's hard-ish to find time to play on week-days but I sometimes play in the evenings, and I prefer mornings on the weekends.
I am excited about the prospect of TOG. I love MMOGs, but they are designed to be group experiences. It's very hard (with my life schedule) to consistently find people to play with. It is my hope that an organization like TOG will put me in touch with people who have similar situations to my own, and who are willing to play together whenever it's possible to do so.
