I'm from the bay area (California, USA) and I've been playing games since Nintendo. I started the transition to online gaming when my friend invited me to play Realms of Kaos, a MUD. Eventually we switched to EverQuest 1 when the Kunark expansion came out. I played that for a while before switching to Dark Age of Camelot. I played it for a short while, loved it but my 56k (was more like 28k

) just couldn't handle the RvR.
Played some diablo 1 and 2 (I think 2 was out back then lol, I forget) and eventually all my friends and I played Ragnarok Online for a while. Played that for a bit, then switched to Lineage 2; I only played that one because my friend paid for me. That pretty much introduced them to how most Korean MMORPGs would work (tons of games are L2 clones, and are grindfests). Then we played countless free to play games before ending up in FF11. Only two of my friends liked it, while the others dropped the game within a few days. I played that for a bit.
Eventually, I heard that EQ2 and WoW were coming out at that time. Asked some friends I made from EQ1 what games were they hopping to and they said WoW; I grabbed WoW and played that from 3+ years. My friends and I all got Grand Marshal/Field Marshal. Eventually, we all got tired of Blizzard's lack of effort on their PvP (3+ years and there's only 4 battlegrounds and an arena lol). I loved Guild Wars (only played the original, didn't play the expansions) but it lacked something PvE-wise. Sorta the opposite to WoW, which I felt lacked the polish in PvP.
We then hopped to Lunia, which combat's system we loved because it resembled fighting games from consoles. It truly was an Action MMORPG, although the dungeons were only 4-8 people (stages, which were pretty much instances). The ones that brought the game over, CDC, seemed really nice at first but eventually caved in to their greed of money and ruined the game.
Now, I'm just hopping around MMO's but can't really get into any of them. The game my friends and I all are really waiting for is Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. Can't wait until that games come out!
In my free time, I like to just game with friends and meet new people. I'm really into MMORPGs, although I play some fighting games and console RPGs on the side. I also like to read manga, and watch anime. Oh, and I'm still going to college. My laptop is pretty good, but my desktop is really old =/
That's pretty much my summarized gaming experience.
