[DONE] Small Essay requesting membership.
Hi there!
I would like to be considered for membership to your fine organisation.
Please.
First lets tick a few boxes. I can confirm that I am indeed over 25 years of age, and I have read and agree to all the relevant codes, guidelines, policies and actually enjoyed the FAQ's. I can also confirm, on a side note, that it man take me some time to recover from the experience of reading all the relevant codes, guidelines and policies. Man that is a deluge of information to take in.
Charater Info - I have one character on Bloodspire (AoC), her name is Styna. She is a low level (not yet old enough to join ToG) but I aim to change that. As for her name, unimaginative I know, but who has the time to get all creative. Not that I'm not creative, give me some coloured paper, a paper plate, glue and something sharp and I can make you a very pretty flower, collage or perhaps hat. But I have such a limited my time corridor that I tend to just wanna get in and have fun.
Personal Info - As my profile states, I am a married, stay at home/work from home mother of 2 girls under 4. I am Australian and live in NSW. I have limited time for myself until after 7.30pm AEST when it time for bed for anyone under 4 ft tall. And even then there is the mandatory 30min- 1 hr period where I am AFK on and off as I try to coerce, bribe or force my two girls to go to sleep.
Background info - I have been a gamer since I met my husband 9 years ago, he had tried to get me interested and at first I resisted, then he bought AO. He encouraged me to make a character and have a go. 5 hours later he woke up to find me still playing and totally oblivious to the time. I was hooked. We played AO for ages. Years in fact. Through the expansions etc, the heckler hunting.. my oh my was that tedious, but it did give you time to make friends which we did. Many we are still in contact with today. We then played WoW. Now this was fun. I really loved Wow. Joined many a guild only to find them rude or obnoxious or worse "clickie". Clickie is a term I use for a guild that invites new members only to take absolutely no interest in them at all. They have their clicks and they are happy with them.
Me just ranting - When AoC came out we rushed out to get the newest and supposed best game around. I have not really had the time to really explore this claim as my old PC couldn't cope, then the new PC I purchased on the understanding it could cope with all AoC had to offer, couldn't cope at all. This was largely due to the fact I trusted a salesman instead of investigating myself.. but I had 2 kids who were at the hungry, tired stage on a late night Thursday shopping spree. I just wanted it quick. This was a mistake. I got me a dud. 1 gig of ram for a PC running Vista. I couldn't even load windows in under a minute, without even thinking of running a game of AoC requirements. So I then got me some ram, and this helped a lot. Of course my new PC is now sitting on my husbands desk as is no longer considered mine. Ho hum.
Conclusion - I now have the time and PC power to really explore the AoC world and though it might be nice to do so with people of like mind and maturity. Our good friend is a Tog-ladite though not playing AoC and he recommends your group with such enthusiasm that I figured I had nothing to loose by applying. Except of course my dignity if I am rejected.
For all those who have read everything so far I commend you and your tenacity. I tend to rant and get very carried away with myself.
But here it ends. I thank you for your time and your web space my rant has chewed through. Please excuse any grammatical/spelling errors as not even I have the patience to read this through again.
