Default WOW (Dunemaul) membership request

Hi,

I am responding to a general shout from the Alliance chat in Auberdine (by 'Weg') that piqued my interest somewhat

Where to start? Ah, gaming history would probably be best

I am a 6-7 year 'veteran' of online gaming stretching back to the old UK Quake 2 wireplay days. After Q2 I had a brief bout of running about on Wolfenstein and Day of Defeat servers (clanned for all of those bar DOD).

However when ET came out, I started fiddling around with MMOGs I put a tentative foot into the waters with Anarchy Online, but ultimately found it too scary to the newcomer (it was a pretty well established game by then, just months before the Shadowlands came out).

Following from this I played SWG for a good while - over a year I think and was in a very friendly guild. It was hard to leave SWG, but the plethora of game-stopping bugs just got to me in the end. I still have an active account with my main on Chimaera due to my Sony station pass though

From SWG I moved to Everquest 2 - am having a lot of fun there - I play on Faydark. However, being an unashamedly addicted gamer the vision of the WoW boxes on my local store shelf was too much to handle so am currently embroiled in both, hehe Balancing up the two I am enjoying WoW marginally more - with the thought of getting involved in PvP also adding a much needed bit of zest.

(I tried out COH for a while too at one point in there, but it didn't have enough to capture my interest for long enough).

As for myself, I am 31 and am a proud denizen of Scotland I work for a popular kid's comic in the UK doing the art side of things for their website. Amongst other arty type duties I live with my lovely fiance, Jo, who indulges me playing (too many) games and tries not to walk in too much in the middle of huge battles and start talking to me about what I want for my tea...

I guess I find a couple of hours most nights to play (which is a LOT less than it used to be before I realised you needed a 'real' life too, hehe) Some nights I can be found playing for many more hours than that ;P

Of course, due to working a fair bit and being part of a relationship means that sometimes stuff comes up that means I just CAN'T play and from reading your FAQ I reckon that it sound like you have a guild structure that understands that

In fact, after reading your FAQ, I found myself wishing I had come across this site a LONG time ago :P

Hope that isn't too long or dull and look forward to a reply at some point ^^

Dalriada.

Welcome to TOG, Dalriada.

I don't know about a LONG time ago - TOG has been around in its current form for about 2 years (or so) now.

Glad you've found us though.

I've just made you a member, so you should now have access to the private forums.

TOG plays EQ2 on Najena, and WoW on Proudmoore (PvE), Blackrock (Horde PvP), Ner'zhul (Alliance PvP) and Silverhand (RP). Since the European servers opened, TOG have guilds on there too - but their names escape me.

Check out the game forums to find out more - Xavien is our Euro TOG Division Captain for WoW, and will be the one to see with any questions.

Enjoy!

Thanks again!

A warm welcome is always something to be appreciated

Now, I'm off to introduce myself to WoW Europe!
