Default [DONE] Eclectic Gamer needs a Home!

Hi there everyone,

Older Gamers has been hanging around my peripheral vision for a while, simply because in a lot of the games I play I always saw you guys running around and wondered if you were all related (as it turns out you are). What I've been looking for is cruisy good fun and cheeky banter between players, kind of like going for a beer, except it's over a game, if that makes sense. After reading the FAQ, you guys sound like that.

Now about me.

I'm 36, Australian (Brisbane), with no kids as yet, and a very tolerant wife with my gaming (she knew what she was getting into ).

My gaming fetish started really young, as in, I saw my first tabletop Space Invaders machine when I was 5 (1977), and was instantly hooked. My first personal gaming platform wasn't a console however, it was a Commodore VIC-20, the predecessor to the C64. Gorf was the first game I played on it, on cartridge. I guess you could say that gaming is what eventually got me into IT (surprise surprise).

Pen and Paper games, I've mucked around with AD & D (high school), Rifts, Ninjas and Superspies, TMNT, Heroes and Villians Unlimited and Shadowrun.
I'm a relatively new addition to MMO games, I only really started with WoW in 2005 (missed the Everquest and DAoC pre-WoW), but I currently play the following MMO's (with an overview of servers and chars where possible)

Current MMOs:

World of Warcraft (Servers: Jubei'Thos, Horde - Frostmourne, Alliance, multiple chars at cap)
LOTRO (Elendilmir server, Lifetime account, highest char level 50 hunter, although a whole bunch of others, burglar, Lore Master, Captain in the 20's and 30's.)
Warhammer (Server: Darklands, Order side, have a lot of chars, Tier's 2,3, and 2 x entry level T4, currently favour Bright Wizard, Shadow Warrior and Rune Priest)

Warhammer is currently my game of choice, although when looking for a change I log back into LOTRO and cruise around. I'm looking forward to the future release of Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO, and keen to check out Aion (on release) as well for a look. WoW I go back to infrequently.

Previous MMOs:

Age of Conan
EVE Online
Vanguard
Neverwinter Nights (does that count as an MMO?)

I also enjoy many FPS, such as Far Cry 1 and 2, Rainbow Six Series, CoD series, and RTS series like Command and Conquer (they were my things before MMO's). Will be giving Arma 2 a try when released.

In closing, the community of the Older Gamers sounds like what I've been looking for, and the fact that you don't just have one, but many game divisions to choose from, or migrate to from game to game, along with the mature focus you have, are the big drawcards for me. Cheers for your consideration guys.
