Hi fellow TOG'ers
I was lured in here by a good friend, who thought I needed to play WoW...so might as well introduce myself while waiting for the patches to download
Who am I? Well, for starters, I'm a nerd...and quite proud of the fact to boot.
I've played RPGs (the P'n'P version) since I was ten...which was 20 years ago, starting with Dungeons and Dragons, back when there was both a D&D and an AD&D. Mostly as a game master, and since many other systems, including some playtester credit in the wonderful setting
Dark Legacies.
I got my first computer, a C64, when I was about 12...oh the joys of loading games on cassette tapes...isn't nostalgia a wonderful thing? Since moved to Amiga500, then PC. I mostly play strategy games, running the gamut from Europa Universalis (II and III) to Civ (all versions), but I have also played numerous RPGs, including the good old SSI games (Pool of Radiance and that series), Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment and Fallout, plus a few other kinds of games.
In recent years, I've really developed a big love for board games. I guess growing up means you don't have time for RPGs as much as you want to...board games are a good substitute, as you normally finish them on the same day you start them (though I have a couple of board games that have drawn out to more than one day -
Twilight Imperium, I'm looking at you!).
I have also played a couple of browser games, but only one of them has really been able to keep me hooked, namely
GPRO, a racing car manager game.
In between all this, I work as a localization manager in the poker industry...yes, there is a way to earn money on online poker without risking anything (except maybe your soul, but I've heard the going rate is not good anyways, so...) I have a degree in English and History from University of Aarhus, Denmark.
I guess that is it for now...sorry for the novel length introduction...I've tried to interrupt the flow of words with line breaks, anecdotes and a little witty banter...as always, "tried" is the operative word...
Regards,
Baragos
