Been gaming for so long my first computer was an Atari 400. (I had the upgraded version with a whopping 16k of memory) I got it mostly to play the Infocom series of games. Some of my other favorites through the years have been Wasteland, X-Com, Simcity series, Civilization series and Fallout 3.
For MMOs I started on The Realm by Sierra Games.Spent some time in Asheron's Call, Guild Wars, a LOT of time in Anarchy Online and am now in Lord of the Rings Online.
I would like to do some playing with some people closer to my own age

Hi and welcome to TOG. A Moderator will be along in a bit to do the formal stuff. When that is done pop on down to the LOTRO forum and pop your character names in the invite thread for the appropriate kinship. I am not sure if you are playing on Evernight or Elendilmir.

If it's Elendilmir you need The Osgiliath Guards sign-up thread.
If it's Evernight you need The Order of Gilthoniels sign-up thread.

Once you have doen that the appropriate Officers can sort you out with an in-game invite
