Hi!

Warning.....wall of text ahead!

So, I was pottering about in Age of Conan when I noticed lots of TOG gamers getting around, thought this was interesting and so headed to your forums to check you out. Before deciding to join however, I stopped playing AOC, so never applied.

Fast forward a year later and I put in a notice on the Guild Wars forums looking for guild. A lovely guy by the name of NFi responded from your guild. It immediately reminded me of my earlier interest in you guys. Unfortunately, he responded to my post a little late as I'd already accepted membership to a small guild.

I was in the Aion forums recently and saw a post from Bunni introducing the TOG guild to the Aion community.

So in response to your questions.....

I'm currently playing Guild Wars (very casually), WoW (gave up top end raiding early in the year due to raiding burn out!), Runes of Magic (a filler to keep me from going nuts while waiting for Aion). It would be Aion I'd be interested in joining TOG for. Perhaps also GW's, as the little guild I've joined is never online.

My first gaming consol was the Super Nintendo. Although I was playing PC online card games at the time, if that counts.

I wish to join TOG because, quite frankly, you offer everything I'm looking for. I am tired of high end raiding becoming a second job. I am tired of expectations from guilds that if I don't logg in every day I'll be booted. Your guild seems to offer the flexibility I'm searching for.

I'm work in schools, so I have chunks of time off during holidays. I'll virtually live in the game during those breaks, but come school time, I may only be able to play a few times a week. I need that flexibility. I need to know I'm not relied upon to logg in every evening to raid for hours until past midnight! On the other hand, I need to know that if I want that for a time, it's available.

I'm in Brisbane, Australia (time zone EST+10).

So, basically, TOG seems perfect!

One little tincy problem though. Teamspeak sounds like nails on a blackboard to me, so please only ask me to use it during dungeons or raids. Using it for socializing is not possible, as prolonged use gives me headaches. NFi (toon name Psi Cosys) informed me this should not be a problem.

Debbie - is this literally just TeamSpeak, or ALL VoIP programs? If it's just TS, it could be something as simple as a codec setting.

...perhaps we can help solve this for you. Perhaps not

Hi Ashlann,

Yes, it seems to be just Teamspeak. Ventrillo sounds smooth and clear and I've never had a problem with it.

Teamspeak just seems to have a frequency that irritates me. I don't literally hear nails on the blackboard, but when people speak, it's gets under my skin. Hard to describe.

Perhaps one day when we both have time, and I've re-downloaded TS, we can get together on it and see if you can help? I'd appreciate your efforts very much , getting this sorted once and for all would be fabulous!

Certainly if you don't catch me on TS, you will find someone there will be willing to help, but I'll keep my eye out for you!

I've always found TS superior in all ways, especially audio quality, so I think we may find that whatever channels you have used it on before have been poorly set up (using trashy codecs).

I am sure we can sort this out for you
