Application for TOG Aion and World of Warcraft
Hi there. I saw a post on aionsource.com by Bunni recruiting for TOG and followed it to this website. I read your FAQ and other important information and was very impressed and decided to post an application.
I am a 39 year old single male, living with my 26 year old girlfriend and her two kids. We have been together for a year so far, but will be together until death parts us. I moved from Fairbanks, Alaska to Greenville, South Carolina a year ago to be with her. I am retired/disabled from the fire department in Spokane, Washington so I pretty much just play a lot of video games these days.
The current games I am playing and wish to play with TOG are World of Warcraft and the upcoming Aion. If Aion proves to be as amazing at higher levels and over time as it seems to be so far in the Beta, it will probably become my focus and I will probably end up suspending my WoW account for a while. My girlfriend also plays WoW and will be playing Aion with me, so girlfriend aggro isn't a big problem, but of course we have to take care of her kids, aged 6 and 4, and that can lead to distractions at night sometimes.
Which brings me to why I am interested in TOG. I play with a guild of older people in WoW who promoted themselves to me with most of the same ideology that I have seen on your website, but it doesn't actually work out quite the way it should. I won't go into a lot of detail, but even though I like the guild overall, there are a lot of things going on there that were supposedly NOT a part of that guild when I was talking to their GM about joining them. As it turns out, it's not that different than most of the other guilds out there that accept anyone regardless of age or maturity level.
I started playing games back with my Pong game, and never stopped or looked back. Played some pen and paper RPGs like Shadowrun and Cyberpunk, but never D&D interestingly enough. Had my run with Ultima Online and then played a lot of FPS stuff for years like CoD, UT2004, Red Orchestra, Quake, etc. I suffer from a decent amount of nausea from FPS games though so I pretty much stuck to MMORPGs these days. Played City of Heroes/Villains for a couple years, went to WoW, and even though I still play WoW, I am looking to make a pretty big transition to Aion next month when it comes out unless it disappoints me in the end-game stuff and the PvPvE I have read so much about but have yet to experience.
I am online a lot, but at different times. I have severe sleep apnea partnered with insomnia and neither have been successfully treated yet. I am just as likely to be on at 3AM as 3PM on any given day. I also type very fast, having taught myself to touch type when I was 12 years old on my TRS-80, so I sometimes crit the forums with a wall of text headshot.
So I haven't slept for a couple of days, may have missed some information I was supposed to put here so just let me know if I need to fill in some blanks. I look forward to further communication regarding my application and wish you all the best.
