Well a friend from WoW just recently told me about this community, and I figured I should apply.
As I just mentioned I am currently playing WoW, but I am planning on finally taking a break from it and playing Aion for a good while. I would be very interested in finding a nice group of folks also playing there. Atm am looking to go for the Asmodian side.
A bit about myself. Hmm where to start. Well I am in my mid 30s. I grew up in New England, but moved out to the Midwest in the 80s and have been out here since. My father was a Sperry-Univac Technician and my Mother was in Tech-Pubs. So I have been around some aspect of computers my entire life.
My first real gaming started with AD&D tabletop. From there I branched into many other tabletop games throughout the years including Shadowrun, various WhiteWolf titles, Torg, and others. My first console was a Sega Master system, and I remember saving up all I could to get Phantasy Star right when it first came out
When I got into college I was introduced to MUDs on a good old VT-100 terminal

I was also in an active gaming community that sponsored several table top conventions. Many of them I helped to run. At home I scrounged up a cheap Tandy 1000, with a 40MB! HDD, and 1 MB of Ram rawr. After a little bit I found the Wheel of Time MUD known as EoD, and spent a long time there eventually as guild leader and knew most of the Admin in real life. I think my first online purchase was a full version of the Zmud Client

After EoD went down most of them went over to another WoT MUD (known as TS), but I decided to join one called Broken Seals. I spent several years doing various things and became an area builder, and worked up to one of the Guild Admin. I actually had a soft spot in my heart for the WoT lore, and actually wrote the original Seafolk.info website, which though I had to close it for lack of money it is still possible to find a couple clones on the web still. Eventually I returned to my builder nature, and became the Lead Builder Admin on that MUD for quite some time. I eventually stopped Mudding and took a break for a bit from online gaming.
After a bit the next game I spent a long time in was Final Fantasy XI, I joined right when the PS2 version was released and found a nice guild there. Eventually I became the leader of a smaller linkshell who cleared a lot of lower content, and most of the promivias when they came out as a Mithra White Mage. I had an open invite to the servers top guild, but by this time I had my spouse playing with me and needed to wait for them since I had a big lead playing.
Around this time a good friend gave me a WoW trial offer and I tried it out. Well.. I have been WoW ever since for many years. I started out as a holy priest when finally decided would focus on becoming a raider. I have been raiding in WoW for about 4 years straight now, with a large guild that is now the oldest existing raiding tag on our server. I eventually switched from healing to a tank, and have been raid tanking since and have enjoyed WoW quite a bit.
That said I haven't been that impressed with WotLK overall for a few of my own reasons. Overall I think just need a change more than anything. So when I heard about Aion last year I looked into it, and made it into the China Beta this spring and really had a good time. Since then have been waiting for the English release and have been on some of the Closed Betas.
Tonight a friend looking for Aion legions actually found out about this community and informed me.
I decided if nothing else this sounded like a nice place to join being a bit older gamer than most ppl I run into online. Other than those basics, I didn't mention that I am happily married to another gamer for the last 12 years. Thanks
