I was born in the first half of the 2oth century. Well, alright, I'm 60. I'm male, part Scots, part Sassenach. The "older gamers" was what caught my eye while searching the Supergroup recruiting forum on CO's website.
I'm currently a computer specialist for the USDA in Davis, California.
I'm married, but my wife is also computer-addicted, so I get very little wife-aggro
I have a small group of friends that has met semi-weekly for the last 20 years or so to play RPGs and board games - we're currently having fun with Dominion and Small World.
In my salad days, I was an avid member of the Society for Creative Anachronisms. I did a lot of actual sword and board.
I'm also one of a small group of people in the SF Bay area that run a yearly game convention here called DunDraCon - currently (and arguably) the longest running game convention in the world - we're about to have DDC 34 - I've been helping run them since DDC 2.
I've been playing board games since about 1956 (Tactics II, Avalon Hill - remember?), picked up D&D shortly after it came out, moved on to RuneQuest (I helped playtest), and finally Champions - Hero Games premiered it at the local game convention, so I was lucky enough to play with George MacDonald and friends from time to time.
In the computer age, I've played Everquest, Horizons, Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest II, Conan, and so on. WoWarcraft held my attention the longest - I played from the getgo until February 2009 - they lost me when the new design team came in and started oversimplifying the game (IMHO).
Since then I've been training up pilots in EVE and waiting on Champions...
I haven't been interested in PvP to date (my Kill stat in Wow is still zero), although that might change in CO. I tend to learn every craft and explore all the PvE options available and usually enjoy cooperative play more than competitive.
