Cool Membership Application

Greetings fellow gamers!

I recently started playing the new MMO, Champions Online. I was browsing the CO Forums, looking for a potential supergroup. Along the way I came across a post explaining TOG (it was more or less your FAQ) and I fell in love with the concept.

My name is Travis. I'm 27 years old and I work as a contractor for various tech service companies. Essentially, I pick and choose jobs to go and do, such as replacing credit card terminals for Walmart, or installing a cable/dsl modem at PetCo, and so on. The pay is good, but the hours are incredibly varied. This throws a wrench into my passionate hobby of gaming. I love online games the most, especially when good friendships develop within. Unfortunately, I've had a hard time finding a group of like-minded players in all the years I have been looking for one. The better groups I have found had strict attendance policies that I have often had difficulty being able to maintain. I can not often predict when I will be able to play due to my varied job schedule. I now find myself a casual player, and your group seems very inviting for someone like me.

I am a life-long gamer. I recall playing my older brother's Atari 2600 from the moment I was old enough to hold a controller. A few years later I got a Nintendo Entertainment System, and it just took off from there. After that it was Super Nintendo. When I was 12, I got my first PC - a DOS-based 386. When I was 14, I built my first PC - a pentium class system. For the past 13 years and counting I've been a PC gamer in my free time - it is only my free time that has diminished. I haven't given up on consoles either. While I was turned off by the changing industry in the days of the Nintendo 64 and the first Playstation, I have always owned a console or two, and presently have both an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii (and I still have all my old ones boxed up, too).

I am hoping to find, with your group, a place where I can find people to enjoy my favorite games with, free from obnoxious teenagers with superiority complexes, free of hateful racism, and free from strict requirements on my time. My fiance was just hired on as an Earth Science teacher at a high school in Maryland, so we're both missing our friends and finding ourselves turning to gaming as often as time permits. I imagine you will see her application some time soon.

I recently quit playing World of Warcraft and have started playing Champions Online. My hope would be to join the TOG supergroup in that game. I also play Team Fortress 2 (PC) regularly, and am an avid fan of Street Fighter IV on Xbox Live, and Mario Kart Wii. I'm generally willing to try any other games, and I'm anxiously awaiting Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3.

Sorry for the wall of text - I tend to just ramble on and type as it comes out. Thank you for taking the time to look at my application.

Best wishes,
Fizzonator
