Let's hope the second time is the charm! After writing a detailed message my parrot apparently decided it wasn't worthy of posting and deleted the entire message. Let's see if I can own up to her standards the second time around!
I found this website several weeks ago and my aging brain cannot remember if I posted to introduce myself or not. I did a search but cannot find myself on the forums anywhere (as I have been searching for myself for years this does not surprise me). If indeed I did post at an earlier date, I apologize for being repetitive.
Who am I and why am I here? Well, I have been gaming since the days of D&D in my basement in high school. I believe my first computer roleplay adventure was an old text based game called Enchanter which some of the older folks here may remember. I think my first multiplayer game was Diablo, followed by a short time in Trophy Bass competitions (yes, I'm a tomboy..sue me!). As for MMORPG's, Ultima Online was my first. I was in an old guild called "The House of Rosmar" on Catskills server and I counseled on Great Lakes for quite some time. Since then I have played just about every MMO out there for at least a short time. My longest runs were on Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies (pre-cu). Since Galaxies it has become quite difficult to find decent groups of non-power gamers to spend time with and to be honest, I don't really play to level or get rich. I play for the community and getting to know people, something that has become nearly impossible in most newer games. I have a 14 year old son who plays and while I enjoy spending time in game with him, I miss being able to play with people in my own age group where I don't have to worry about everything I say. As much as I enjoy being a positive role model, sometimes it's nice to let my hair down!
Sooo...to answer the questions you've asked:
What games are you currently play/looking to play with TOG?
At this time, Aion. In the future, well...unless someone actually gets Sony to do a remake of Galaxies pre-combat update, my hopes are on Old Republic.
What was the first gaming console you own or pen and paper game you played?
I had an Atari 400 computer, an Atari 2600 (still have actually..we use it to torture the children when they misbehave.. "here! Two hours of Asteroids and don't let me hear you stop until you flip the counter!"...)
but before that, Dungeons and Dragons basement marathons and Car Wars (come on, admit it, some of you remember Car Wars).
Why do you want to join TOG?
See above?
Tell us about yourself or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm pretty sure I already answered this...I think that was me..but then...wait! Yes, it's up there too!

Last but not least, while my teenage son plays several games, I also have a younger son and a daughter in college who rely on mom for silly things like food and laundry... as well as several furred and feathered creatures requiring my attention at various times and a full time job I am fortunate to do from home. We also live in the middle of nowhere in the woods by the ocean in Maine and winter is fast approaching. What this translates to is not a whole lot of time to game unless a rare snowstorm blows in that traps us here for days and doesn't have us running on our generator. I typically have a few hours at night when the house is quiet and maybe a few during the day. This doesn't fit well into a power gamer style so I am most definitely a casual gamer. If there is a guild event I will always do my best to adjust my schedule however last minute things tend to be difficult. Hopefully once snow starts to fall and our access to civilization freezes over I will find a bit more time to visit! In the mean time, you can always reach me through email or msn...or facebook if anyone is signed up..
I look forward to meeting you all in Aion. I am signed up for the head start and have created an Asmodian character...Emmalethe..on the north american server. She is currently a L1 priest. I don't typically bother with alts..it's tough enough to work on one..
Thanks for letting me rant! -Emma (aka Jo/Jules/Mom/etc..etc...)
