Application to TOG - Champions Online (and perhaps TF2 et al)
Hi all.
I've been put in touch with you guys by Reoh, from Champions Online.
I currently play CO, with a bit of TF2 and L4D. I already have 4 favourite servers in TF2 (Simian Cage and associated custom maps servers - they're awesome guys), but I'm looking for a SuperGroup in CO so I thought I'd see what all the fuss is about.
First console I owned was a PS1, but I've been a PC gamer since Wolfenstein/Hexen/Doom. I'd list all the games I've played over the next few years but frankly, you'd get bored (long before I would). WoW, WAR, TF, TF2, Half life, Doom 1-3, all the Quake games, pretty much everything. I own a PS3 but just use it as a streaming box and to play Batman. Can't abide FPS on consoles, although I'm no rabid fanboy, I acknowledge the games are super. I just can't get on with controllers for FPS games.
(told you I'd ramble on)
Played a bit of pen n paper DnD as a kid, but stopped pretty much as soon as I noticed girls.
I'm 29, live with my wife (who's expecting our first child) and work as a technical analyst for a major power company. I fix computers for lulz in my spare time - I'm familiar with most memes and spend far too much time on the net, but I don't regard myself as a /b/tard on account of having a functioning sense of humour that stops working when anyone gets hurt for real (unless it's really, really funny and nobody really gets hurt badly).
I consider myself semi-retired from gaming, hence the casual MMO (Champions Online) and casual shooters (TF2, L4D, etc.). That won't stop me from playing quite a bit, but to put it in context I recently cancelled my Aion pre-order in order to prevent myself from being sucked in.
Oh, and I spend my spare time working out how to make my rig go faster without spending any money. I've got a 720 BE clocked at 3.6 and run a 4870 clocked within an inch of it's life.
I'm based in the UK, play outside of my 9-5 job and most weekends. Oh, and my wife is exceptionally understanding. She's reading this over my shoulder.
