Default Introductory thread

Hi all.

I'm a old school gamer who has never lost his interest in games, despite getting married having kids and all those other real life events that can detract from the gaming experience

I guess my serious gaming started about 1971 and, at that time, mainly consisted of ancient wargaming with metal figures. There was also a role-playing game that we had to write our own rules for. Later on D&D came out. Later still....Civilisation

Recently I've been getting into MMOs, my favourite so far is LOTRO. But there is a slight problem, namely grouping. Many players are in far too much of a hurry for my tastes, I can keep up (just), but the rush reduces the feeling of immersion. So, I solo a lot to avoid immersion-breaking dashing about. But I would rather group, at least more than I do now.

I recently heard about TOG and reckon that you guys might be my best bet for a more measured approach to gaming. So......please let me join and then we can find out

I should also add that I live in the UK and my primary gaming hours are UK daytime and late evenings.
