Greetings.
I always have a character named leafgreen in every game I play, and that has been quite a few. I'm 39 so I grew up with a TSR-80 (barely, senior year) and the good old Atari although I sunk mass quarters into the tabletop Pacman, Asteroids and later Dragonslayer. Ran a website in '91-92 before the internet was around although there was Compuserve and a few others i don't remember. Then I found Eye of the Beholder, Civilization and Harpoon - and my love of computers and single player games skyrocketed.
Neverwinter Nights was awesome since I had been DMing D&D, Battletech, GURPS, ets, since the initial basic boxed set of D&D came out - those were the days! But NWN... I started learning how to code again and scripted a 3k recipe system, a housing system, other great stuff but my favorite thing in the world to do then (and now!) was to pop in with DM powers and shake things up to keep life fresh and interesting for players, all MMOs desperately need that.
Star Wars Galaxies was my first real MMO and I loved it, then the CU came out and I could live with that, but then the next 'upgrade' came out and I was one of the thousands leaving the beloved game that SOE had crapped on. Yes, i'm an SWG orphan and despise SOE.
Faces of Mankind, Dungeons and Dragons Online, EVE, Runescape, Ikarium, Invasion 3042, Lord of the Rings Online and more that I forget were next - and always I ended up leading a superb clan. So many clans seem to be solely focused on raiding and treat their non-raid or lower level players like crap, but I always focused on team runs of hard areas and massive crafting/resource swapping. And I always had very very happy players which made it oh so hard to ever leave a game.
Right now I'm trying out Fallen Earth and the crafting system has me hooked, I've been shutting down my accounts in other games and abandoning my clans (it ALWAYS feels like you're abandoning your people when you lead a clan and leave a game) and am not running any clans right now, it's kind of nice. But eventually I'll be leading one as it happens in every game I play.
When The Old Republic comes out I will be there from day 1 and will be there until they shut down the servers, the genre has so much potential and Bioware is the one company that I actually trust to wait until a game is perfect before releasing it. I keep in touch with all of my old SWG clannies and we're all waiting for the day that TOR comes out and we can play our first love again.
I live in Phoenix (GMT-7), work nights and sleep days usually, play 60 hours a week, and am usually heavily into crafting.
