I've been gaming since the womb, where I was involved in a rather simple D&D campaign with my mom's uterus. (I got booted from the session when I lost my 1d6 in a bizarre accident on what I later found out was "burrito night" at my mom's book club.)
The Atari 2600 all the way up through X-Box 360 have had my attention at one point or another, but in 2004 I became a full-force convert to the world of MMORPG's after receiving a closed beta invite to City of Heroes. While in CoH beta, I was responsible for forming The Army of Heroes (later the Alliance of Heroes, still in existence), a supergroup with much the same mission statement as ToG.
I left AoH when I was one of the four partners to form the original MMORadio, an internet-only station that was the first of its kind to broadcast from the floor of E3 in 2005 (from the NCSoft booth...great group of people to work with).
The MMOs I have played? Oh, geez...pull up a bean bag, this'll take a minute. CoH, SWG (MWS from Eclipse here), EVE Online, WoW, EQII, LotRO, Guild Wars, DDO...well, you get the idea; I've been around the block with MMOs.
Currently, I have an active Champions Online account that is languishing in disuse, with my main hero a member of the aforementioned AoH. However, the only attention that account is getting is from my 9 year old boy; my new love is Fallen Earth, a game that seems to be "clicking" with me more than any other recent game. (FE has more than a little of the pre-CU SWG vibe in a way.) FE is the game I would like to start my ToG experience with.
As for why I want to join ToG...well, having started a group much like this (albiet on a MUCH smaller scale), it's obvious that I think it's a fantastic idea, and would be a perfect fit for me, assuming I don't get run off due to bad jokes and too many bad puns.
I also own and write the MMO blog
LagORama ... it's been more than a tad neglected lately...something I plan to rectify soon.
I'm in Mississippi (Central time zone), and no, I didn't have to put on shoes for the first time just to post this.
I don't own shoes...my sister wouldn't allow it after we got married. /rolleyes
Pathetic stereotypes aside, I look forward to getting to know you folks!
